Do you like the heritage jumper? I like it. It would be good to have it alternating with blue and white.:)

luckilly the jumper has nothing to do with horrid south fremantle

Shouldn't it alternate between Easts and Souths each year? Being a neutral Out of state Docker fan who has never seen a game of WAFL in his life just trying to bring some common-sense into it.

A lot of Fremantle supporters are South/East Fremantle supporters. As well the other WAFL clubs make up a big portion of our supporter base.
I'd like the think Fremantle Football Club and its supporters focus more on the heritage of Fremantle itself as opposed to trying to incorporate the two WAFL teams into our history.
These two teams help add to the history of the area and therefore add to the positive perception of FFC but imo they are separate and should not be included when heritage issues are considered.
Growing up in a West Perth area as an East Fremantle supporter I can imagine the difficulty some of my Cardies mates have saying 'common Freo'. Same goes for Swans, Royals et al.
While i'd like nothing more than seeing Femantle run out onto Subi in blue and white it would insult the WAFL heritage and all the supporters of teams that do not have Fremantle in their name.

And remember you can bid for them after the game. How much do you think Pav's would be worth?

I think last year the top jumpers were going for a few grand each?

That's a very vague memory though

Yes but in the very early 1900's split into East and South Fremantle. Both are reminents of the original Fremantle FC. Therefore must be acknowledged.

That's not true, Fremantle FC actually disbanded (I think it was to do with a dispute about player payments). South, East and North Fremantle all formed independently of the original Fremantle, with North Fremantle only lasting about 10 seasons.

Does anyone know if the North Freo ammos club is the same North Fremantle that was in the WAFL? It's probably not, but i'd be interested in knowing for sure.

Basically correct Rob. East Freo entered the league in 1898, Fremantle played their last season in 1899. South Freo joined in 1900, but never claimed to be a continuation of the old Freo club.

As for North, the WAFL club died out in 1915, but the Ammos didn't start until 1921. Both were/are called the Magpies and wore black and white... and probably shared an oval/players/coaches etc, but there is no mention of the old WAFL team on the current ammos website

They very much associate themselves with that history though...
early photos are all through the changerooms/hall and the "Ex-Scholars" hold a pride of place.
Produced the great Laurie Tetley, who played for Easts I think and then South Melbourne (?).
Jaymie Graham also played a few games there while he waited for a clearance.
