I find the general rule of thumb with Lionel says that the frizzier the hair, the better the music.

I had a similar theory in relation to the work of Peter Landy. He always seemed to put in much better commentary performances for night games at VFL Park, where it was generally colder and damper. Over the course of the night, his hair would become noticably curlier i.e. in the post-match to-camera piece, he was far frizzier as opposed to the pre-match or halftime stuff. Never much rated him in the warm, dry confines of the MCG.

It's no coincidence that he stopped gracing our screens pretty much at the same time VFL Park was sold.
