Clearly the best ruck in the comp ATM. No one comes close, if he keeps the form up I would be disapointed if he missed out.

I think his form has been a big factor in our resurgance this last month.

Sandilands was great against us a couple of weeks back... although Hille seems to be turning into the complete package (Skills, endurance, toughness, courage, strength, goal kicking etc...)

Or am i just biased?!!??

sandilands is crap

just because hes tall doesnt mean he is any good

he doesnt kick goals like hille or cox

doesnt cover the space on the ground like hille or cox does

why does everyone think he is so good

because he is so dominant in the hitouts maybe? He kicks goals, he takes marks, so why wouldn't you want him?

He probably wont get AA honours as Cox and Sandilands will most likely get in ahead of him, but he'd have to be a shoe in for the Crichton medal, surely.

Been very good this season, the reason behind so many of our wins. :thumbsu:

Mark Bickley (selector) just said on the Footy Show he is definately in the hunt ;)

I can handle Cox getting the gig. But Sandilands and Simmonds, noway.

Sandilands consistently racks up high amounts of hit outs, but they seem to favour the opposition. And too often he doesn't have an influence on a match, be it hit outs, marks, disposals around the ground....

Simmonds I don't rate and how he got a game in HOF game in front of Hille was a joke.

Hille has been conistently good all year, has had a massive influence of the games won by us this year. :thumbsu:

cox wont make it this year

sandi is his only real competition and if hille keeps up what he has been doing in recent times i would say he would be AA.

Sandi does get so mant tap outs but not too many are as effective as hilles

plus hille gets 20+ possies per week and a few goals so imo hille for AA:)

Yeh i dont think so ethier as he just had 23 possies 11 marks and 43 hitouts against a decent ruckman in Simmonds.

well if you are basing it on head to head performances, Hille OWNS Cox;)
Last time we played you, In terms of hitouts Cox owned Hille but on overall performance it was Hille by a mile on the night.

Go back to rd 1 and look at Hilles hitout stats compared to his opposition, There nothing special as he has only hit his straps in the last 4 weeks.

Simmonds is a f*%^ing hack! who suggested that??
Hille is the "in form" ruckman of the comp right now.
there is no reason at all why he won't be selected.

Im not going to come on your board and start paying out your players and club like alot might as i respect your club but althought i agree with you that Hille is the "In form" ruckman in the league. He has only been doing this for the past 4-5 weeks.

Im not trying to discredit the guy but when you compare him to Cox and Sandilands who have been consistant for the full part of the season so far i just cant see him getting in. The selectors may even just opt for 1 ruckman which will make it even harder.

I remember in lead up to the HOF game, it was mentioned that playing the game would give "extra credit" towards AA selection. Cox will get in the AA team assuming he continues playing, Josh Fraser is out for sure. That leaves Simmonds, Charman, Hille and Sandilands vying for the last position. I suppose it is a safe bet that Charman is out, so its Hille, Simmonds and Sandilands going for the last spot.

Comparing stats, the three ruckmen are actually very close, especially Simmonds and Hille. Hille has had 11 more disposals, 8 less marks, kicked 6 more goals, and had 44 more hitouts.

Sandilands had actually had more posessions than Simmonds this year, but trails Hille by 6. He has 22 less marks than Hille, but a whopping 164 more hitouts.

It will be very close IMO, but at this stage, I think Sandilands gets the nod.

Sandilands has been far from consistent. ;)
