slightly off topic, and it may have been said somewhere else, but the fact that Didak and Jolly didn't get picked up by anyone today affirms the Club's decision to delist them.

Big Footy is a tough gig.
If the club listened to all the rhetoric regurgitated here, we would have no assistant coaches, MM would still be in the chair (50% of the time, dependant upon our wins/losses), half of our list would be traded or delisted, membership would be free & we would win the premiership every year.

I met Bolton's mum by chance at a Collingwood v Werribee VFL Game.
She was standing next to me and we started talking, me not knowing who she was.
Bolton was a crazy Collingwood supporter and was devastated when he did not make it.
He's actually a very good kid. They rated his training ethic to that of Ben Cousins.
Shame he did not make it.

finally! a realistic solution to a massive problem. The other alternative is to open a survey on who should be drafted, and let the full force of the BF intellect determine who is put on the rookie list...

Because by putting him on the rookie list we could take his salary out of the salary cap, whilst replacing him with a cheaper draftee.

So 2 players for the price of 1 cheap one, instead of just Gault.

It's a very simple system.

In a sense MG yes it does. Probably more a case we decided we were better positioned to move forward with others on our list.
They may have been able to add value to another list, but didnt go that way.

Our call on those two was corrrect from the moment it was done!!

Haha, he was talking about Jye Bolton a few years ago :p. It's a valid question too because if this quote from Vampire is true I can't see why he would have been delisted: "He's actually a very good kid. They rated his training ethic to that of Ben Cousins." Though his source was Jye Boltons mum so I doubt she would say he's a deadshit who trains like Shannon Cox.

Who knows Dave?
I saw the kid play in NAB cup when he was drafted and he looked ok.
12 months later he gets de-listed.
It wasn't his character or work ethic.
Problem I think was who he was competing against for a spot in midfield..
WE had many guys ahead of him.

My source was not Jye Boltons mum about the training ethic.
You think that I'd be stupid to quote his mum what her opinion was about his playing ability and training ethic?
I read that in the Herald Sun. That is how the club described him when they recruited him.
I think Maxwell actually recommended Jye Bolton to the club.
The only thing I got from his mum is that he was a Collingwood supporter and that he was devastated when he was de-listed. She did not brag about the kid.
He is now enrolled in uni and studying economics from what I remember her telling me.
No hard feelings toward the club either.
Actually a very lovely and modest woman !!!

I don't buy it. I still to this day think he did something wrong. Maxwell helped draft him.

He was a Star in the NAB Cup Campaign and I think everyone was surprised he did not play that season and got De-listed in 1 Season. Played some good VFL Games as well

Gault was contracted. It was either pay him out or rookie him. Hine confirmed this in his interview.

Look at all our draft picks, then count how many players selected after them you would prefer than our pick.

Higher the number, worse the pick was. Dekker wouldn't have that many high numbers. Gets better when you review other teams selections.
