I love bowling. Nothing better than taking a wicket. I also know the value of pressure. The kind of pressure that builds when runs start to dry up.

Some bowlers have been masters at it. Just putting the ball in the same spot ball after ball with a set field protecting this type of bowling. It is then up to the batsman to change what the bowler is doing. Either through footwork or taking a risk with innovative shots. This is were the errors can come.

In the last Ashes test I did not see this once and after seeing our bowlers in plenty of games I believe they are simply in capable of achieving consistent line and length to pressure batsman.

Is there any up and coming bowlers who can do this? I am just wondering who is out there in the States that may be able to replace these pathetic excuses that call themselves bowlers.

Lol, exactly what I was thinking.

Also, McDonald and Clint McKay both bowl very consistent lines and lengths, but I guess the question mark is over the other aspects of their game.

Hazlewood looks like he could be our next "metronome". He gets a little bit of swing, a little bit of seam, bowls quicker than he looks, gets that annoying, nippy sort of bounce, and is fairly accurate. One problem I've noticed with his bowling is that he occasionally slides quite badly down leg, worse than most, but when he doesn't do that, he's bang on target. He is also yet to take a bag; he consistently takes a 1-3 wickets an innings, but is yet to tear through an attack. Hopefully that will come with age, experience and physical conditioning.

George is another, similar-style bowler, but he's still a bit inconsistent. Love the look of him though.
