Definietely a Collingwood fan...saw him at a Port game with a Collingwood top on. Kinda broke my heart a bit.

He must have supported the PAFC at some stage because he used to have POWER seat covers in his car. First time I'd seen them so I bought a set of my own as a result.

And I must admit to feeling a little heartbroken myself when I first saw him wearing the Collingwood gear.

As an aside, I knocked around with him a little during his Crows days. He once described McDermott as the best captain he'd played under.

I think you will find that in the current father son rules, he would only be eligible to play for Port Adelaide in the AFL.

As ET said, Scott Hodges is ineligible under our current father-son rule.

*While listed as playing a tick over 200, SANFL clubs' propensity to include preseason and night matches in official tallies would probably drop them below the '200 league games only' marker. In Northa's case, he has a good half-decade or more of post-1996 SANFL games that of course don't count towards his tally.

I remember that day well Phil. It cut deep. i think part of me died that day :(

I remember talking you into having a chat to him about the top. I was too scared - he already broke my heart and I didn't want him to break my jaw too. He has become a massively scary looking bloke since he retired.

Don't forget his horrifically patronising, cringeworthy and repetitive rambling about how 'on paper we were the better side and there was no way you should've won that game'.

This was the bit that has always irked me. "We were better on paper, we were fitter, stronger and better prepared there is no way we should have lost" Out coached and no heart is why you lost.

Combined with his sanctimony about the recent AFL bid it was a credit to our players and staff that he didn't get told to f-off long before he actually did.

I have always been thankful that the message he got was only verbal, as much as it would have been amusing at the time to see he him puched in his filthy mug the fall out from that would have been unimaginable.

So Scotty does have a son. Will make the Bryce Gibbs fiasco look like lawn bowls results in the Messenger if he makes it.

We will never ever win the father son argument.
