These rumours will never go away, and im convinced once his contract is over he will go home. I love jesse and I want him to stay. But should we make a move first and get maximum valve?

I know GC have offered lynch a massive 8 million for 5 years, but he seems pretty keen to make the move back to Victoria.

Three way trade with Freo, GC and Melbs and get Lynch to the demons? Anyone interested?

I'd keep Hogan. However if he did leave I hope the club would make a play for Lynch.
Hogan 51 games 105 goals
Lynch after 60 games had 81 goals.
Hogan is a freak. Word is he is happy here and a few have said his mum has relocated to Melbourne. Back him in people.

Jesse played like 7 full games this year and kicked 20, thats a better rate then Lynch 18 full games at 44.

Hi guys,

I won't stick around and annoy. My only comment regarding Hogan is that he and his manager must surely be giving Freo the vibe he is within reach.

I understand Mahoney said 'blah blah' but that's the standard line.

IF that is the case then yeah perhaps get overs for him now and just dust your hands. Land Lever and have enough in the bank picks wise and money wise to go after Lynch.

I won't through trade suggestions out there. I think it's incredibly unlikely he requests a trade and even further unlikely he moves, but this doesn't have to be seen as a loss IMO. I'd be on the phone to Lynch's manager and see if the ducks can line up. If not then yeah hold onto Hogan like your life depended on it.

What's is overs for Hogan? Players like him are rare so his value is hard to gauge IMO.

100% rare. I want to keep him
The purpose of a trade wouldn't be because hogan is worse than lynch, It'd be to get some value for a player who always wants seems to be under a cloud of leaving. Lynch seems good option because he wants to live in Victoria.

Not sure on overs, But I'm sure the club would want abit

This crap is self perpetuating. Someone in the media makes opinion that hogan could be traded. Someone else contacts other clubs asking if they'd like hogan, they give obvious answer and some other journo asks melbourne whether we are looking to trade him and its denied. Regular fools on bigfooty and social media compare comments to when Buddy/Boyd were traded, rinse and repeat.

I agree and won't suggest.

I mean if there was a chance Lynch would come West we'd go straight to Lynch, but like I said something other then Hogan is from Perth must keep Freo interested.

I think he's probably told them he's interested but just hasn't fully gone through with it and we keep trying.

Otherwise it's not hard to say not interested and let all media speculation die. Signing an extension IMO doesn't necessarily alter anything.

Ok I'll indulge.
2 firsts and some spud are what have been spoken of. Initially that's what I think is reasonable.

Way overs? Change the spud to a very decent player. Talk about Neale. So 2 first and Neale and probably getting a second or 2 back.

Spuds a harsh term for someone like Balic or Taberner but let's face it they are steak knives. I love Taberner by the way. Check my history. Not like I'm saying Suban!

I'll finally add I'd do 2 firsts and Balic or Taberner for Hogan and a 2nd.

Anything more and I'd rather not get him.

Pick 5 should land is a great player and a future first is massive for 2018 'super' draft.

Not saying my suggestion is his worth.

Just where I'd draw the line.

Keep Hogan, his pre season and round 1 form looked like he was on the verge of a breakout season.

He signed on after his Dad said its totally your decision, no pressure from the family. Hogan said it was a career choice, the choice of where he wanted to play the rest of his career out. He chose us because of he wants do something special with his mates. Some of those mates he's been living it up in Bali with over the off season.

Despite a tough year, everytime he had a set back all he did was try and get back playing as soon as he could. He wanted to be out there playing for the mfc during the 2017.

No way do we shop him round for anyone. Understand if he wants to go home but the past year I've seen nothing but him wanting to play at Melbourne

If hogan requested a trade I think 2 firsts and Balic would be more than fair.

On your suggestion his manager put it out there? I bet if Freo offered 2 million a year for 10 years Hogan would probably take it, I bet every manager tests the water. Same as if you guys offered us all your picks for the next 2 years and Fyfe we would be silly not too take it. But for now Id be more than surprised if Hogan left considering we are shopping around Watts

It is in the interest of the media to drive stories like this. Jesses had a horror year so they ignore the fact he signed till end of 2019 last year and use the pretence of wanting to go home for family reasons to make up stories. I'm not absolutely ruling out Jesse wanting to go but why would he have delayed a trade request for so long? Also like Topkent says managers always talk to different clubs, I've got no doubt clubs will enquire about Petracca next year and Connors will indulge them to drive Tracs price up a bit.

I'm more worried about losing him to a Melbourne based club than I am to Fremantle when he is OOC in a few years time.

But absolutely Hogan. Lynch is a known quantity, Hogan has a lot of improvement in him which will come with continuity.

Lynch is the known quantity. That being said he's four years ahead of Hogan, and Lynch in his first 3 years averaged 0.9 goals per game while Hogan has averaged 2.1. If Hogan leaves I wouldn't be disappointed to get Lynch because he's possibly the better player anyway, but I wouldn't go out of my way to make the swap happen
