Cant work out if Cornet is a babe

It's the nose that does it. Watching a match of hers one day, one of my mates commented, "Jesus christ, go in for a kiss with that and all you'd get is a mouthful of nose." Thought it was quality.

Great body though.

Would have thought Panfil would have built from a good week in the Hopman Cup but he loses round 1 of qualifying in AO to world number 237

Meh, Panfil aint that great. Tomic slaughtered him just pushing the ball around. And, as Tsonga put it, when youre used to playing top level players you can pick up queues about where they are going to hit the ball, and cos they are so accurate they always hit where you think. Playing someone like Panfils there's less consistency and accuracy with their strokes and it can throw a top players game off.

Yer but he certainly didn't look like the world number 285 didn't he?

Well losing today to a world number 237 suggests that he probably struggles stringing a few matches together. If you watch a world number 1000 and a world number 100, there aint a massive difference in skill. Especially watching court side. A world number 1000 is an amazing player. As for #10 to #100 - as Fed and Nadal have put it, its mainly all in the head

Hmm surprised... but there's not a lot between so many of the players, skill wise and physically.

The main difference between the top and others below is between the ears. Looks like he's still getting his crap together.

He's 26 and in his peak so dont think he'll become a good player

Thats the thing about tennis. #237 in the world is a great player still. But he's a no name and couldn't afford his airfares until they were paid for him. The prize money he got from the Hopman Cup was more than he had received his career.

I read a stat that only the players ranked 30 and above earned over 6 figures last year. Break even - as in walking away with zero money after paying the coach, travel, etc. is 75 in the world.
Tennis is not a good sport to play professionally compared to football, basketball, baseball, etc...There is a massive exponential difference from the top to the bottom. Sure the Big 4 and co are raking in obscene amounts of money, but then the drop off is massive. I read that Jerzy Janowicz almost could not afford to eat until his break through in Paris a few years ago.

If you're the 75th basketball player in the world you're a starter in the NBA making millions per year w/ a guaranteed contract.

If you're the 75th lawyer in the world, or 75th chef in the world, or 75th [insert almost any profession] you're killing it....

Rumour was that Panfil and Ranwanska were hitting it off at the NYE ball. Hope for his sake he managed to get one away. That would of made everything worth it.

People don't realise this, but it is so true. Hell the 75th best AFL player is earning a hell of a lot more than the 75th best tennis player in the world once all outgoings are taken into account.

Yeah, tennis seems to have this whole aura of prestige, glamour and massive prize money, with high-profile sponsers and stuff. Yet its far from the truth. Probably because its an individual sport - a player ranked below 20 in the world would stuggle to pull any kind of audience live and on tv.

Yet you have complete hacks like Zac Dawson playing in front of 100,000 at the MCG and millions on tv, cos its a team game and his lack of skill is diluted - the people come out to support the team as a whole.

Very true Miqar_Baqfhied. The rewards are there for the best of the best, although there's a massive amount of sacrifice involved.

You'd have to kiss your social life goodbye, as well as the odd binge (drink and/or food).

Hence why I don't think Tomic has as much money as people think (or he likes to portray) and will end up one of these people with no money when he retires, unless he changes his attitude. He's probably fortunate in that he's got some sponsorship money though.

^ Tomic has earned a lot of money. Over 300k last year from what I remember, not including endorsements and sponsers. His whole tennis upbringing was carried by Tennis Australia, including coaching and travel to tournaments. Has been sponsered by Nike from very early on too. Thats why when his f*ck-waste of a father threatened to take him out of the country he should of been taken out.

edit: he's made 1.7 million in the last 3 years earnings alone
