Its a bloody saviour for soreness from weights and running.
Anyone tried it?

Hot water (as hot as you can handle) for 30 seconds
Cold water (total cold, no hot water) for 30 seconds

Repeat 3-5 times.

Finish with cold.

Its very refreshing...I dare you to try it if you haven't already.
:thumbsu:

I've found ice-baths are a lot more effective and significantly less irritating (after the first couple of minutes).

But if you haven't got access to ice, the hot/cold showers aren't a bad idea.

Really effective in promoting circulation and aiding in recovery. Its all about Vaso-dilation and Vaso-constriction. (thought id throw that in there to look smart) :p

Walking in the sea is also really effective

Can't remember which is which now, but When ur in the cold it promotes blood flow back to your heart (More oxygen into bloody) then going to hot promotes the blood flow the your extremities (The oxygen filled blood then helps repair muscle and restore engergy to the joints)

As in literally walking through the water. If you dont have a beach a normal pool does a similar job. Water puts less pressure on ur joints and helps drain fluid from them. of course in salt water there is even less pressure so it will happen quicker and better.

Both are good though.

Spot on.

Its also called 'shunting'. Enables for the removal of lactic acid and other toxic by products from the bloodstream + muscles after exercise.
