Every time we start Hille in the ruck this year the opposition has got off to a flyer. Then we put Alessio on in the 2nd qtr and start playing catch up football. Clearly so far this season Alessio is the one making the impact in the ruck. Why don't we play him as the #1 ruck for the entire game, with Hille playing center half forward, taking the ruck duties in the f50 to give Cess a rest and allow him to play out the entire game?
It seems like the perfect solution to me. We get the presence we need in the ruck (especially center bounces), plus we get a tall, center half forward that can take strong contested marks, who is still getting the ruck and game experience he needs. A forward line of Lloyd, Hille, Lucas, Cupido, McVeigh could be quite potent. A third tall option in the forward line will allow our midfielders to move the ball faster and longer than they have been.
Thoughts?
