I tried to play Championship manager the other day and it wouldn't read the cd.. so i took it out and noticed a few small white scratches? on the back of the CD.. i tried wiping it with a damp cloth and it still wont work.. i herd you can do somthing with toothpaste.. anyone know what to do?

Mild abrasives such as toothpaste can do the trick, although the gels aren't so flash. Also furnishing and valuables polish such as brasso will also do the trick. An alternative is to use a fine car wax, the idea being you fill in the scratches rather than smooth them out.

What ever you use, wipe from the centre straight out to the rim using a fine cloth and then rinse. You may have to apply it two or three times as well

My dentist told me that toothpaste has a certain element to it that aids scratched CD’s, he told me what it actually was and how it works, but I cannot remember now. So using toothpaste would be worth a shot, it most likely won’t work each and every time, however you may be lucky.

Jim has got it in one. Not even buying a Mac will help.

Where do i buy it from?

Most Fellowes product is available through decent size stationers... Officeworks, Corporate Express, National 1, Boise Cascade, South-Eastern, Allstat... Big W and K-Mart are also likely stockists.

Fellowes national office is in Tullamarine (Vic). If you ring them they might be able to tell you a local stockist.

If you're in Melbourne (or suburbs) I'd probably be able to tell you who stocks Fellowes stuff (no I don't work for them, but I do work in stationery and they supply to us).
