WOW theClokes! All it took was Ben Cousins to solve all those problems you mentioned with your treads about our mids/backs/forwards! :D

Just taking the p!ss mate.

Like to see J-Mac and Wellingham in the team somewhere.

It makes you sit back and realise how good our side looks at full strength.

Go Pies!:thumbsu:

Thats assuming Wakes Retires this year? but I do Like the look of that lineup

Add J.Brown, D.Kerr and C.Judd, and a good defender and we're all good, oh wait....

:D

Take away “finishing touches” and replace it with “significant improvement.”

We still need a key back – Maybe a straight swap: Ben Reid to West Coast and Mitch Brown to Collingwood.

And don’t forget Alan Didak – Using Alan to somehow trade for a Daniel Kerr (will do nicely)

Don't know how trading Didak will stengthen our side. He is a goalkicking mid who pumps the ball down the throat of forwards. After all, its mids we want so why trade a gun mid like Didak?

I'd like to think that at some stage next year the likes of Stanley, Cook, Wellingham, McCarthy and our 1st round draft pick will force the likes of O'Bree, Lockyer and R.Shaw out of our best 22.

These guys have been great servants but we need to look past them if we are going to go further than our present position in the bottom half of the top 8.

I just posted in a thread about our chances of making it past the semi's that IMO J-Mac is deffinately in our best 22 atm assuming Dids Shaw x 2 and rocca came back, I think Toovey, Cook, Shaz and Dawes would make way, so that is a start.

I think Stanley should be tried in the place of O'Bree sooner rather then later. The other thing that needs to be placed on higher priority is Thomas in the midfield.

I am deffinately with you in that some of the older brigade should start being forced out. Tarks IMO is safe, Rhyce on the other hand isn't. Benny J is almost out of contention altogether and O'Bree should be one in the sights.

If you assume, for example, that our back 6 will include Brown, Anthony, Maxwell, O'Brien and H.Shaw there is 1 spot in the back pocket or flank available.

Up forward, you would have Medhurst, Cloke, Rocca and Reid/Rusling so there are 2 spots for rotating midfielders.

If you have three mids on the bench with your 2nd ruck, in total you have spots for 11 mids.

Pendlebury, Thomas, Swan, Davis, Didak, Clarke are 6 of the 11. Burns would be there if he chooses to go on as would Cousins if we manage to get him. You need another clearance specialist so that is either O'Bree or Stanley if he goes past O'Bree.

That leaves two spots and we have not found spots for Wellingham, McCarthy, Lockyer, Cook, Stanley/O'Bree, R.Shaw and our 1st round pick (assuming it's a mid).

When I look at it that way, I am not so sure that Tarks is safe. He probably deserves to start the year in the 22 but it's close in my book.

You can not be serious! The thought that someone could even think about not having Tarks in the side makes me sick.

Tarks will take over the Burns role next year. He is a champion inside player who knows how to used the footy.

I agree with your theory here and agree that the 6 suggested mids are walk up starts, but come on! You can not have a middle group that are all flashy players.

Is it me or do some people not realise that Presti is over

Love the bloke, but the way the game is know, he will get killed due to his lack of speed and his ball use

He will probs retire anyway...

I'd suggest you are right - if Burns does not go on Tarks will be in the side. All I am saying is he is probably not a dead certainty if Burns does play on.

I would call Thomas, Didak and Davis flashy. Add Cousins to that if he is here next year. I think Swan, Pendlebury, Clarke, Burns and O'Bree are more workman-like then flashy. I would not consider that midfield full of flashy players by any extent.
