Well this question is mainly for Nick or any of the other banana benders who come on this page but anyone else is welcome to add their 2 penny's worth.
Law plays for my team Essex in the county championship & every year he performs to a really high standard & the people at the club have a great deal of respect for him which says a lot as our previous overseas players of the last decade or so include Allan Border & Mark Waugh.
The other day we played Lancashire on a turning pitch & they've got Murilitharam in their side so at home they basically rely on him to win games for them & he averages 10 wickets a match for them.Lancashire made 450 odd & then we were bowled out for 226 with Law not out 116-they enforced the follow on & we were bowled out for 260 with Law not out 146.We lost the game but Stuart Law is just a class act,he then made another ton in the 1 dayer on the Sunday. I can't beleive he hasn't managed to claim a Test place if he was English he'd be a definite for the Test side & probably captain as well.
The thing is Aussies I've spoken to about him don't really rate him that highly-Why?

He's agood state level player, but useless at a higher level. Maybe if he grew his mullett back, he would make even more runs.

As a Victorian Dipper i hate him with a passion, HES A CHEAT! 2 years ago with the Pura Cup final in the balance he edged a ball to the keeper, didnt walk and QLD beat the Vics...fair enuff Last season with the Vics storming to an encridible victory he edged the ball straight to secon slip, a clean catch was taken, he didnt walk!!!! the softc!@#$$# umpires went to the video which only had a couple of cameras operating didnt get the right view and he was given NOT OUT! He new he was out, the Victorians new he was out, the crowd new he was out i suspect the umpires even thought he was OUT!!!!! hE DESERVES NEVER TO PLAY FOR AUSTRALIA!

Yeah hes a good bat, just that noone likes him. CHEAT!

Bit harsh Santos, considering his test record is 1 match, 1 innings, 54 not out, then dropped.

But as a Vic I must admit I'm also not a fan, although if the boot was on the other foot I might think differently.

Along with Darren Lehmann, Law has been the most consistent run-scorer at state level over the last 12 years or so.

He has a moderate ODI record and a single test appearance (against crap opposition) to his name.

His batting average in First Class matches is close to 50, but there would probably be 10-15 batsmen in Australia with similar records.

I think Law's international career is over - he is now in his early 30s (33?) and has probably 10 blokes in front of him in the queue for a middle order spot.

Walking what's that?

Bubba mate,
Please name me one Australian cricketer that walks when he edges the ball & it's caught? cos we've never seen one over here, in fact in my experince they're rarer than a Dodo

By your reckoning the whole of the Australian side would be cheats.......hmmm.....now I would NEVER put forward a suggestion like that myself-LOL;)

Everyone knows you only walk when you run out of petrol.

law is just a good state bat, making runs against state bowlers.
Anything he achieves in county cricket dont count. He would be aboutthe 15thbest in Australia

He'll never get a spot in the test/one day side... although don't hold me to that since Tom Moody got a call-up when he was in his mid 30s.

Stuart Law is a very good player IMO, but in this era of how well our cricket teams are going, he's left his run too late. Late 80s or early 90s there would definately be room for him!
