Last week the media, both here and in Melbourne, worked themselves into a frenzy about the possibility of Dean Solomon roughing up a few of his former team mates. They questioned Sheedy about it, and they questioned the Essendon players about. All involved inferred that Solly would take a few scalps.

Net result of all this hype? Two extremely soft (and incorrect) fifties against him, one of which resulted from the softest report we have seen in many a season.

It was clear that the umpires were very wary of our man Dean!


Now it seems the media have Cookie in their sights. According to this article ...

...the return of Cook is nothing less than a declaration of war by Freo on those wholesome, clean cut boys in yellow.

If the umpires respond by over-reacting (which they usually do) we could be in for a long and frustrating day.

As for Cookie, he might as well petition the governor for a stay of excecution now. One lingering tackle and the umps will order he be put in restraints and wheeled out of Subi Lecter-style.

10 & 9 both continued with the theme.
Harvey handled the whole thing very bloody good. First time i seen some real steel without looking hopeful. While the market gardiner looked like he was ready to cry if any of his girls got manhandled. Harvey gave me some real hope with his eyeball look when asked about Solly and Cook in the same team.

The market gardiner couldn't say anything about Cook because he (Cook) is probably the most respected hard it player in the game.

When the Slime start being crybaby's before the game gives me confidence.

This the least of our worries. if they don't come out with a'team" orientated metality tha **** not only cookie's responsiblity to put pressure on but the whole 22.

We need to make the game a scrap and keep this up for the WHOLE game because the SLIME will just keep coming they know no other way.

If we allow them too much space or be overly offensive see RD's 1+ 2 then we'll get beaten. And it ain't a Judd Judy and Taxi Kerr show there plenty of other SLIME players capable of being match winners.

Sometime you amaze me Chris when you cant see the wood for the trees.

We may have been beaten Rounds 1 + 2 but it took the two most accurate performances kicking on goal to do it against an undermanned Freo.
