Last week the media, both here and in Melbourne, worked themselves into a frenzy about the possibility of Dean Solomon roughing up a few of his former team mates. They questioned Sheedy about it, and they questioned the Essendon players about. All involved inferred that Solly would take a few scalps.
Net result of all this hype? Two extremely soft (and incorrect) fifties against him, one of which resulted from the softest report we have seen in many a season.
It was clear that the umpires were very wary of our man Dean!
Now it seems the media have Cookie in their sights. According to this article ...

...the return of Cook is nothing less than a declaration of war by Freo on those wholesome, clean cut boys in yellow.
If the umpires respond by over-reacting (which they usually do) we could be in for a long and frustrating day.
As for Cookie, he might as well petition the governor for a stay of excecution now. One lingering tackle and the umps will order he be put in restraints and wheeled out of Subi Lecter-style.
