Rhyce Shaw
Honestly - Until he is 32 years old. He is someone who has a surname reading Shaw. He will play near 200 games.

If it was up to me -

He would have been delisted last year. He has no more skills than speed. He has no opposite foot. He has no skills while been presured.

Hes not a great player but is a good one. He will get better and handle the pressure a bit better. He will stay at Collingwood more because he is not valuable trade material due to his size.

He will be a valuable player for us for many years.

BTW, lets not forget that Ray Shaw was captain for 5 years but got shafted. Just because the name is Shaw doesn't mean he is safe.

Great player turn it up, he can run but has no skills what so ever. Great players can kick on both feet, Shaw strugles to hit a target with his prefered foot.

Look at the season in full, dont cloud your mind with a bad grand final game. He has great skills...earlier in the season was hitting targets with regular monotony. Forwards at the pies even say they love being on the end of a Rhyce Shaw pass. And unlike your mate Ben Kinnear...he has scope for improvement too.

Quit bagging him.

Well said.

You cannot blame Rhyce for the bloody GF. Even though he has been at the club for a while now, he had only played a handful of senior games regularly until this season.

Yes, his performance on GF day was terrible but I hate to state the obvious...HE HAD A LOT OF MATES! I blame our midfield before I blame Rhyce. If the midfield had have been putting the usual pressure on in the middle, (which they had been doing wonderfully well since the break) then the friggin ball would not have been going forward so quickly and so often. When you come up against a forward line like theirs, especially when they are 'on song' like they were, you'd struggle to find many defenders, experienced or not so, that'd be able to effectively quell them.

Rhyce has pace to burn and reads the play fairly well. He provides us with terrific run from the back line, as does Johnno and Lokan (at times), he has also worked really hard on improving his kicking, which circa 2000 was terrible.

I have faith that Rhyce will be a good player for the Pies. Not a superstar by any stretch but a good, honest hard worker.

TURN IT UP MATE!!!!! I watched Rhyce in everyone of his games this year!!! ok don't tell me to stop bagging him. He had one outstanding 16 possesion game against the Saints.

Has no skill what so ever, as prooven in the season.
Watch some of the tapes of this years games and come back to me then.

good on ya.
If you can understand that he is saying that he cant kick on his left mate.
What effect does that have on the Grand Final
Gees get it through your head, you know he has got no left foot, and he has only got run.

He will stay because one thing

SHAW

Funny how many times we sit in the members area and see Shaw running forward, in the center square kicks to his target tarrant running towards the boundry line. Ohhh how damn frustrating the ball bounces over the line...

SHAW

Sigh

How many players are one sided? too many. He will stay because he can play.

Its a different opinion. He is no star, but he can play. I think Ben Kinnear cant play...doesnt stop me from having an opinion. Tarrant has no right side, along with, Didak (they can fluke one occasionally). I've seen a ton of games this year where I've though "nice pass Rhyce" And yes...I actually look with open eyes and see past the grand final...unlike others. A quarter of every teams side should be delisted following this inane logic.

Hey Stat sorry Lonie from 50/ Guess Who
The real ironic thing is that you attack Reece yet you claim Ben Kinnear is a good player and your favourite. Please. Reece has shown more this season than Kinnear has ever shown. Reece is a good young player with the ability to improve. There is no way he should be delisted and certainly not before Ben Kinnear.
Your lack of football knowledge is quite amusing but also sad that someone can think they know so much yet know nothing.

Had a look at some tapes, where I knew he was good...

Round 10 against Port...one of our better players in a loss. 18 touches.

Round 11 against Melbourne had a great game...27 touches and 11 marks...ran alll day. Woey was great in this game too.

Round 19 among the best against a first quarter thumping from the Lions. Had 20 touches, most good.

Round 20 against Adelaide, one of the best again with 20 touches.

And even in the preliminary...20 touches, chased and tacled, disposed of it well....By no means a star but has had his share of good games and highlights. A mostly consistent season after a slow start to the year (like most of the team)

I looked at my tapes and I'm happy with what I saw. The best thing is...he'll only improve.

Im not saying that Shaw can't play im saying he can't kick if you guys can't see that well then, may god be with you.

Your 150% right about Rhyce showing more the BK will ever that is all true, I totally admire Rhyce trying his heart out every game no matter if he plays for Willy or Collingwood. Even in the Granny I fealt sorry for him,

A group of friends of mine, who reguly go to the footy with me, and myself do not follow BK because of his exeptional skill or work ethnic around the ground. We folow him for something diferent and cos he is a battler and because he is a cult figure of the club. He looks so damn dumb it's not funny, thats why we like him because he has been on the list for 5 or 6 year, and never gets a reguar game yet he is still batling away, as is shaw I just hope that he doesnt do a BK and play almost everygame in one year then go back to become a big time fringe player.

Remember Johnno

I think we need to be careful picking on the shaw boy's skills. Last season I thought that we should give Johnno the flick and look at the improvement in him. I think that his improvement this year alone suggests that he has earned another year. Let's judge then!

i will take you on anyday the don, you know he cannot kick on his left - the main opinion in this. Don't try and get me because i will beat you on football knowledge anyday, even though i am 16 - i am more of a freak than you know and you will never understand that.

Not surprised that your 16. Your arrogance is typical of alot of teenagers. Anybody who thinks Ben Kinnear is a good footballer clearly lacks football knowledge. I don't think any more needs to be said on the issue.
