Simmonds will be 1st ruck, but Stafford is likely to play only 15 or so games now that his body is going. What happens if Simmonds gets hurt or Stafford is out?
Pattison won't be ready for years. Hall has been a flop whenever he has rucked. We are then down to Morrison, Gaspar or Schulz.
We need a body. Just someone with an AFL-ready body that can be thrown in for 10 games, or an occasional run off the bench. Someone who is ready to go and at least knows a bit about AFL that he can fill-in straight away.
Knobel is out of our price range it seems. Basically leaves us with McKee or Porter and McKee is the better fit of those 2.
Weaver said:1 veteran + 5 rookies. Foley is one, so that would leave us with 4 rookie list picks. Although we probably won't be able to afford to take that many.
We would be entitled to take 2 picks in the PSD draft, but only have to take one. So we will pass on the 2nd pick to save money and go into the season one player short.
mighty tiges said:As it currently stands that is correct Weaver but I've been told we will be moving Cambo off the veterans list and back into the seniors list of 38 to fill our list requirements as well as save money. He'll still be a veteran though. A change in the rules allow this.
Tigerrific said:Perhaps we can afford Knobel now that Zantuck is gone. It would just depend on how much we are paying Zantuck to leave.
Tigerrific said:He would surely be a better option than McKee and we could then use Simmons up forward.

jezza said:Weaver does this amount count against the salary cap?
Infamy said:How can you guarantee that? $150k was pretty much his entire base salary.
More like we paid him the difference between his Richmond salary and his nominated salary in the PSD, perhaps a bit more but not his entire salary.
Infamy said:and you know that he's nominated at minimum salary do you?
Spriggs, McGough & Ackland all specified their own salaries at the National Draft, why wouldn't Zantuck?
linuscambridge said:Does anyone know what happens if you take a kid like Kirkby in the psd do, you have to sign him to a 2 year contract on minimum first year wage like the kids you get in the national draft?
Or can you get him at a discount on a 1 year contract like Weller was?
