We'll use one I believe. Cambo will be moved back onto the senior list of 38. This will leave 5 more spots on the rookie list that we can use given Foley is already on it.

1 veteran + 5 rookies. Foley is one, so that would leave us with 4 rookie list picks. Although we probably won't be able to afford to take that many.

We would be entitled to take 2 picks in the PSD draft, but only have to take one. So we will pass on the 2nd pick to save money and go into the season one player short.

please don't pick up mckee lol

We don't have any choice really.

Simmonds will be 1st ruck, but Stafford is likely to play only 15 or so games now that his body is going. What happens if Simmonds gets hurt or Stafford is out?

Pattison won't be ready for years. Hall has been a flop whenever he has rucked. We are then down to Morrison, Gaspar or Schulz.

We need a body. Just someone with an AFL-ready body that can be thrown in for 10 games, or an occasional run off the bench. Someone who is ready to go and at least knows a bit about AFL that he can fill-in straight away.

Knobel is out of our price range it seems. Basically leaves us with McKee or Porter and McKee is the better fit of those 2.

We will take ruory kirkby with our first pick in psd since he has been training at richmond. They will then take mckee at there next pick which will be about pick 8.

tambling could ruck! lol! boy that kid can jump! i reckon he could out mark richo! lol! nah u guys that havent seen this guy train or play... ull be loving next season! as terry sed.... most richmond supporters would love this kid! on the psd piks i agree with weaver! we need to pick up mckee for our 3rd rucking option! i would love to have kirkby in our side but i think we need the to take the tall option. will get him in our second psd pick if not already taken! fingers crossed for both players! :D

As it currently stands that is correct Weaver but I've been told we will be moving Cambo off the veterans list and back into the seniors list of 38 to fill our list requirements as well as save money. He'll still be a veteran though. A change in the rules allow this.

Doesn't matter whether he is inside or outside the list. The maximum combination of rookies and vets is 6 players.

Won't save us any money either, because it doesn't matter if we have 37 on the primary list PLUS Campbell or 38 on the primary list INCLUDING Campbell. It fulfills the requirment of 38 in both cases.

Perhaps we can afford Knobel now that Zantuck is gone. It would just depend on how much we are paying Zantuck to leave.

You can guarentee that we are paying Zantuck at least $150k.

He would surely be a better option than McKee and we could then use Simmons up forward.

Simmonds wants to ruck which is why he left Freo. If he wanted to play up forward he would have stayed with them.

How can you guarantee that? $150k was pretty much his entire base salary.
More like we paid him the difference between his Richmond salary and his nominated salary in the PSD, perhaps a bit more but not his entire salary.

He was rumoured to be on $150k base, a club job of $50k and match payments. So $200k guarenteed.

He will nominate at the minimum rate ($40k) so we have to make up the difference ($160k) if he gets picked up. If not the full $200k. Now I am assuming that we got a bit of a discount and he accepted a bit less to get his money up front, get away from the club, and get a chance to go to a new club ... but it would still have to be $130-$150k at least.

and you know that he's nominated at minimum salary do you?
Spriggs, McGough & Ackland all specified their own salaries at the National Draft, why wouldn't Zantuck?

Because with only 1-2 live picks he wouldn't want to do anything to price himself out of the market.

Richmond - nope.
Collingwood - seem commited to Caracella
Carlton - seem commited to Knobel
Kangaroos - backed out of a trade for him and seem to want Piccione.
Fremantle - Schofield
Essendon - maybe, maybe Blumfield.
St Kilda - not after dumping Lawrence and Capuano
Port Adelaide - maybe, probably not.
Richmond - pass
St Kilda - pass

So with probably only 2 chances, and slim ones at that, he will want to make himself as cheap an option as possible.

Does anyone know what happens if you take a kid like Kirkby in the psd do, you have to sign him to a 2 year contract on minimum first year wage like the kids you get in the national draft?
Or can you get him at a discount on a 1 year contract like Weller was?

Kirkby would be picked up in the rookie draft not the PSD. Rookies get roughly $25K IIRC.
