It's simple. Lower Geelong's salary cap by 15%. The reason why this needs to be done is because the cost of living is much lower in Geelong compared to cities like Melbourne and Sydney. Small coffee prices in Melbourne have been seen costing up to $6.70 and iceberg lettuce prices have been seen costing up to $12.50. This is ridiculous and it's no wonder Geelong are able to fit more talent under their cap than any other club.
With the ongoing war in Ukraine leading to higher inflation rates in big cities compared to in regional areas, the gap between Geelong and the rest in terms of how much talent they can afford to fit under the salary cap is only going to get worse next year and beyond unless something is done to lower Geelong's salary cap.
