I agree with you there. He showed that he was capable at AFL level, just not to the standard that would get him a regular game with the Pies, plus he was never given his preferred role simply because there were better players ahead of him in the midfield.I reckon J-Mac will have a very good year for Port. Not a match winner, but definitely a player who will have a consistent year and will be an important player for them. I even think that he will score well for DT!

Hey Guys, sorry to intrude on your board, I just want to say i was sad to see Brad Dick get delisted at the end of last year, as I always liked him when he played for you boys. He just seemed to really enjoy playing and always had a big smile on his face. It's good to see him get another chance but it seems like he isn't the same player he use to be.
I'm just interested to hear from some of you Collingwood fans on what ultimately went wrong. I know he got injured when he was in good form a couple of years back, did he constantly get injuries? Or was he just showing poor form after recovering from the injuries?
Also, do you reckon if he never got injured in the first place, would he have kicked on as a player and kept his place in your side?
Appreciate anyone's responses![]()
The club also gave him the option to be rookied but he instead chose to go back to WA.A couple of shoulder reco's then a couple of knee recos were the last straw. Had huge talent, but very injury prone and too skinny.
If not for injuries, he for sure would of been a good forward and played 150 games. I doubt he'll play many more afl games howerver sadly.
I'm not sure he'd reach Scotland's standards but it wouldn't surprise me if he had a solid career at Port.Could McCarthey potentially be the next Heath Scotland.. can't remember Scotland too well but always thought he was a plodder for us and has turned it on big time for the blues. Imagine if he did that to us!
