Hey Carlton faithful, like the thread title suggests, how is Army going for you guys since he was drafted? I ask because he used to play junior footy here in Perth for my old junior footy club, he was a couple of years above me though.

He's been very good this year, shown a lot of improvement. He was very important in the win against St Kilda. Missed a couple of weeks with a quad injury. Wasn't great in his return game against North, but not many blues were.

Whilst the feedback is mixed on this site I think he is one of the biggest positives in our season thus far. He is super fast and super committed. Rarely loses his feet in a contest and backs himself. His kicking at times is lacking but even this is improving. Did have a poorer game against North but was still one of the less self destructive players.

His second half of 2009 he was one of our best small defenders and he has continued this form into 2010.

Until his injury (it was an abdominal strain, not a quad - source; Armfield on 3AW) he hadn't been beaten this year. When the ball hits the ground I have every faith he will at the least, halve the contest, but usually with his strength and speed, win it.
His disposal cops a bit of a belting on here, but TBH I think its not that bad. When you put it ip alongside Russell and Walker I think he holds his own, but for some reason he cops it whenever he makes a howler. People should review the last quarter vs Port to see how important he is to us. Beat his man, ran off hard, hit targets by foot and set up 2-3 goals with his efforts.

I love the guy (not in that way) and would have him in my first 22 anyday. :thumbsu:

Thanks for the replies! I always knew he'd succeed if given the chance; he always did the team thing. I also noticed back in the day that he was a very fast runner, and as you said Bluebear, he's a very hard runner. I'm very happy seeing him doing so well :)

I'm one of Army's biggest fans. He loves chasing and tackling.

I read or saw a quote of his where he said when he tackles he tries to drive his shoulder into the ground and if the oppostion is in the way then they get driven into the ground as well. Love it.

Go ARMY!!
