What should the crows accept for the Hudson trade as he has stated that he wants to come to the dogs? On their board it has been said, 'Hudson & Mcgregor for pick 5', but I am not so sure. Something else needs to be added I feel. Thoughts?

Can they honestly type on their P.C's hand on heart and think they're going to get pick 5 for those two? Early third round for Huddo.

I am feeling the same, they can either take what we offer them or end up with nothing accept a dirty taste in their mouths!

Maybe this is how McMahon gets back to SA.

Yep - I think McMahon and a 3rd/4th round pick for Hudson & McGregor would be fair

That said, I am a little reserved about trading McMahon. He was very good in 2005 & 2006 ( really missed him when he was injured for a couple of games in 06) - I think this past season is an 'outlier' in terms of form (and given other issues he has). I guess we are going to have to give up something to address our list weaknesses

The Adelaide Advertiser suggested McMahon + Tiller for Hudson.

I'd be ****ing pissed at that deal.

For this deal it would have to be McMahon only, even still I think we are paying over the odds a little, but I think we might have to to pick up a good quality ruckman.

Would Adelaide be interested in Giansiracusa? They have stated publicly they are after small forwards, where Gia is best suited.

You want to trade a 25yo for a 29yo?

Get off the grass

We need a ruckman, we have only 2 on the list: Street is useless and Minson, while promising had a pretty poor year.

We have a heap of small forwards, a heap and we may have to get rid of a good one to bring in a ruckman.

We traded for Aker this year who is 30 for an 17 or 18 yr old (pick #34). Where is the difference?

From the AFL website

" But Hudson’s efforts on the track paid dividends in 2005 when he played 20 games and was a key player at the stoppages with his work in the air and on the ground '

Wow we might get some clearances then

Just imagine a decent ruckmen "Cambo gone" things could be looking up'

But if Judd goes for pick 3 then they are dreaming if they want pick 5

I say pick 20 plus sam power

Deal Done :)

Newsflash Einstein.. We already have a dirty taste in our mouths, and you are dreaming if you think we are going to accept a 3rd/4th rounder for an already established ruckman/pinchitting KPP (which the dogs are in desperate need of).
Not sure if any of you have any recollection of what proven ruckman have commanded in the way of draft picks but your suggestions are already laughable! Ruckmen have always drawn higher picks and the fact that your club will be getting one who is about to enter his absolute prime (remembering he finished top 2 in the league for hardball gets for ruckmen in a post-ACL recovery year when he should have been in cotton wool and eased back in with a backup role)

We would take nothing less than an early 2nd rounder for Hudson (and possibly McGregor) and i would think the Dogs would be happy to accept a scenario like this. If McMahon was also put on the table in that scenario then, and only then would a 3rd rounder gain an inkling of interest.

I believe it was actually #1 in that category for ruckmen, and #2 in the entire league, or at least was until his suspension.
He's a very very underrated player. As long as he doesn't absolutely bend us over, we'll get something very decent for him.

Remember that Hudson is 29 years old. They should accept a 3rd or 4th round pick and be done with it.

tiller no way. ive got a feeling this guy can turn into a very good forward for us given more game time. was impressive in all his games when the ball was really not going into our 50 with any good delevery at all and the guy chases and tackles. jordy n a 3rd/4th for hudson+mcgregor sounds good.

plus the reason why feel we felt jordy absence was because rohan smith was also missing during that period.

Didnt we just have a ruckman with Knee issues that retired. Hudson is okay but 1 million for 3 years ! Little wonder Adelaide couldnt agree.
Cant wait til trade week is over. How many dodgy deals can one club be involved in! And who we going to give up...Please dont stuff this up dogs.

I think this board should sticky my thoughts on Ruckman and forwards.

Oranges aren't Pears

Jews aren't Popes

Rucks aren't Forwards.

Not in decades has there been a Ruckman that is an awesome forward. Sure some have there days here and there, but we can't kill 2 birds with one stone and all it does it wallpaper the cracks.

Hudson is 28, has had knee surgery, is uncontracted and doesn't want to play for Adelaide.

I think a second round pick around 20-25 is very fair compensation.

It seems from the report that this deal is all but done.

Aker = 20,000 member + being in the paper every week.

plus really we did think we were going to push for finals/ top 4 this year, Aker would have been great in september

There is no way that Adelaide would accept a just third round pick for Hudson. The bloke is our lead ruckman, much underrated, and was third in the competition for hard-ball gets this year. That's right, third.

With Darcy gone, you're in dire need of an experienced and proven ruckman. Traing Pick 5 directly for Hudson won't happen, but don't insult us by saying a third rounder will do it.

McGregor (26, 150+ games) and Hudson (28, 50+ games, proven) for Pick 5? More chance than what you're proposing. If Eade wants these 2 players then he will have to trade for them. Adelaide are in the box seat here, not the Bulldogs. If we aren't happy with an offer then it's off to the PSD they go.

Are you forgetting that ruckmen dont hit their peak until they turn 30??? Or is that not part of your football nous?

Straight out 4th rounder in this draft?!? Lay off the kava mate! Geez i guess Sydney must have been spewing when they had to give away an early second rounder for a 32 yr old Everitt then?

Hudson at 198cm plays as an extra midfielder, he will be in your top 5 for clearances next year - but hey, that can't be worth much (considering you gave away pick 34 for an already over the hill 30 yr old midfielder in the greatest draft we've ever seen.. *rolls eyes*

You better get on your shoe phone Maxwell Smart and make a call to Paul Salmon about that statement. I suggest your tone of voice be apologetic. :D

I say you can keep him.

3rd round pick at very very very best.

In fact I am shocked we are even thinking about it.
