I'd like to add my congratulations. It does pain me to say it but Collingwood deserved that win without a doubt. You were the best team throughout the year and you showed it. Well done Collingwood.

I'll add my congrats to this too if that's alright. Well done Collingwood and all its fans for sticking with the team when it wasn't successful. Having come from Adelaide, and before that the UK, where too many fans pick their teams based on success (Port Magpies, Man United etc.) it is a pleasure to see Collingwood fans enjoying their moment (although living in the northern suburbs I'm sure this will wear a bit thin soon ;)).

And following the sentiments of the Sainter at the top, I am yet to go to a Collingwood/Crows clash and not sit next to a decent Pies fan who I can have an enjoyable respectful chat with (whoever loses).

Also, I am sick of telling people that Mick is the best coach going around only to hear "...but he hasn't won a flag for a decade and a half". You need the 3 Ls to win the flag - Leadership (tick), List (great effort to even get you to the 02/03 GFs) and Luck (ie. few injuries). I'm not even sure you've got the best list now, but with a player developer like Mick you were able to compensate for the fact that other clubs have had higher draft picks in the past.

Thought I'd pop in and offer my congratulations. The best side of 2010 won the Grand Final and truth be told, it was reflective of the way you went about your year. A great team performance that destroyed the opposition. Nick Maxwell played a true captain's game yesterday.

Congratulations and I'm sure there's many sore heads today and 200 million new Pies members in about 9 months time.

What a TEAM effort from the PIES this year. So much intent from across the ground. Impossible to hate on that. Congrats.
 
Congrats fellas. We played our GF last week and you capitalised with a dominant performance yesterday.

Is it just me or has Collingwood/Mick Malthouse made a concerted effort to recruit players with Big Game experience? Both Thomas and Sidebottom were brilliant in both Grand Finals. Both won their respective 'BOGs' in the TAC Cup. I think there is a bit of a pattern there.
 
20 year rule. Carlton premiers in 2015, hopefully sooner.

Bring on the rivalry in the next few years.

a big :thumbsu: to the collingwood football club for being gracious in victory and not disrespecting the opposition while accepting their medallions and the cup something which a few clubs in the last 5 seasons have failed to do.

i hope every club took notice and we see the same kind of behaviour for every grand final to come.
 
Congratulations Pies!! You were clearly the best team on the day and for most of the year. I was the only one in our group of friends supporting you - and I enjoyed every minute of it. Luke Ball is all class - he was one of the reasons I was supporting you ( along with Mick of course!).

Commiserations. We at Pieland know what GF losses are like, so hopefully the Saints will win one soon( hopefully not against us of course).

But yes, you are right. I heard that MM watched Thomas in the TAC Cup GF and basically influenced the drafting switch from Xavier Ellis to Thomas. I still think Ellis will be a very good 200 game player for the Hawks, but I have been a DT fan from the start and IMO we made the right choice.
 
Congratulations Pies. Clearly the best team for the year and played an awesome brand of total team football. I was also impressed with the grace and humility you showed in the post game. It's getting harder and harder to hate you. (ah well, there's still Carlton I guess).

You know you are a bit of a legend around these parts so on behalf of the winty award voting committee I'd like to thank you for your support ;)
But honestly is nice to see opposition supporters swallow their hate for us and offer congratulations. We were the best side this year but it's bloody tough to win premierships as we've found out now.
Feel for St Kilda in a way because we've been through it all, but they have a couple of years left in their window and will have a red hot go again next year IMO.

Besides winning, the way Max and Mick went about it made me extra proud of the win. Let's hope non Collingwood members (like the majority on this thread) show us the same humility. Well done y'all

Congrats to the Carringbush. Geez you guys cop a lot of shit from the rest of us, I would imagine that makes it even sweeter at the moment. Just far too good this year.
