Hurley - Fractured Wrist

Lot of chicken little stuff. Not sure how some people wrote his season off. Lonergan has a similar operation and only missed a couple of weeks.

Hurley still has legs. He will be able to do 80% of the training work load.
He will be back before the end of the year easily.

Don't think the same area was affected with the injuries.

Re: GOOD NEWS and some bad

Surely you jest? I'ts not netball ffs.

I wouldn't even call his bump on Pettifer a snipe but the one on Roo was nothing.

Good on him for making him earn what was always going to be a certain goal.

Whilst it is good to see someone throwing their weight around, as you quite rightly mention, it aint netball, i'm not sure if it isn't more than that with Lovett-Murray. One of the reasons he has incurred such a harsh penalty is his checkered history. I can remember a Box Hill game back when he was coming through as a rookie. There are two things i can remember from that game, that i was not too happy with the toothless Hawks cheersquad members who were bagging out Steve Alessio and the king hit that NLM dealt out to some hapless Box Hill player. It was a fair whack, you could hear the slap sound from where i was on the other side of the ground.
The reason I bring it up here is maybe this is an issue that needs more consideration from the coaching panel. If NLM wants to position himself as a mentor and leader of the younger indigenous boys, then he really is not setting a good example for them by becoming the next Essendon hitman.
Just my 2 cents.

Yes i see what you are saying but i was just refering to these 2 incidents in isolation. Giving someone a little bump and 50m penalty when the game is over and when he was almost certain to goal anyway is hardly a snipe and it is hardly going to influence the young players in any negative way.

I agree that he cant go around king hitting people unless of course it is one of the Carr brothers. That is acceptable. :D:thumbsu:

Re: GOOD NEWS and some bad

well sniping was probably not the right word, but i just wasn't impressed with either incident:

incicent 1 - cost us a goal that was by no means certain, nor was the result certain
incident 2 - cost him 3 weeks suspension. now i personally don't believe he is in our best 22 anyway, but obviously the coaching staff do, and he's let them down.
