If Hurley dropped through to our pick would you like to have him with Thursfield - Too Skinny atm
Moore - Good size has improved
McGuane - Still Skinny
If we added Hurley to that list a big bodied KPP would be good

If Hurley managed to fall through to us I would be happy if we picked him up, on the proviso that all the highly rated midfielders had been picked up. If one of them is available I would rather we get one of them to add to the midfield group and then look at getting tall, either defender or forward with 26.

If we get Hurley, his old man can provide the entertainment for next year's B&F for free.:thumbsu:

Why do we need another Key Defender? Thursfield, McGuane and Moore have just about made the grade. Schulz and Polak are decent depth and Rance is an upcomer.
Because if we do have another Key Defender it would allow us to have flexibility in where we play Schulz and Polak.

He can play both ends of the ground, in fact he plays very well as a forward and has kicked a few bags in his time so i wouldnt rule him out as a tall forward either.

I can see the headlines for his first game already " Ready for the HURLEY-Burley of football" :thumbsd::p

So Hurley would make it 7. One unlikely to play again, one a reasonable utility, and 5 strictly KPD. People say it will give us depth down back, but maybe try drafting players where we actually need them positionally, rather than drafting them where we don't need them, but would like an extra one in case 3 or 4 get injured.

So you are saying you would turn down Hurley if he dropped through to 8?

5 strictly KPD??? Name them. I'd much prefer to have Moore and Mcguane play more offensively.
Moore is a backman through and through. Reads the ball and is athletic enough to go with most forwards, but lacks the polish to go down the ground. If you don't want to use him down back send him our way and we'll find a spot for him.

Well no, actually.

To be honest I'm not 100% sure what you mean. I get that you want to change him into an offensive defender, which is fair enough, but what do you mean when you say 'he will cop a worse defender'? And why make him into a quarterback when we have players who can't do anything else already filling the role, such as Jordy?

Dunno really. The more defenders we have, the easier it gets for everyone, because we can match up exactly how we want to. I can just see Moore dominating his player then controlling the back 50 for us. That kind of role. Lake esque. Beaver would know what I mean.

I seriously do not see how you would pass on Hurley.

I don't know if I would. I'd leave that to the recruiters, considering I haven't watched every TAC Cup game this year.

I know what you mean by the more defenders the better etc, no shit. But, we have a limited number of spots on the list. If we want to have surplus in defenders, we're going to have to have limited supply in another spot on the list.

And I don't know why you seem so proud that you would have Beaver agreeing with you all the time.

If Hurley poped up at pick 8 (which I doubt, but you never know), then you'd grab him, but I'd be more likely to put him forward than change Moore's role. Moore is the ideal defender, quick enough for quick forwards, smart enough for the monsters and skills upto scratch. Why use such a quick player for the quaterback role. The quaterback role has now been mixed with the dropping back in the hole type role (eg, Harley, Hodge), Moore doesn't fit this mold
