Hyde Retires

Unlike Essendon, Richmond is waiting to see what it is offered for its peripheral players, but it is understood Chris Hyde has retired.
The 26-year-old was reluctant to receive any fanfare and wanted no public announcement after playing 93 games over eight years as a hard-running tagger.

yeah he didnt write it, but our coach made him into a MONSTA.

Good work Hydey. Had plenty of talent, but lack of size as tagger was a problem and his confidence dropped after finding it tough on players such as Goodes and Ablett. Once he stopped selling candy it was over. Confidence is a big thing. Good luck in the future

I mentioned it (and got it from within the club) around Round 22......club told him he was gone.....and he didn't want a 'farewell' game.

More cash for them at local level. Tivendale would pull a fortune down at ROC or Berwick(who just lost Ronnie burns) or somewhere like that.

got all he possibly could out of himself . somebody mentioned earlier that day in 06 down at skilled stadium. bought me great joy, was waiting to start work while listening to it on a portable radio. the manager was a cats supporter.

i rated hyde but unfortuently younger better players came through.

i'll always remember him for getting knocked out and wearing that stupid bandage across his head. loved bleeding from the noggin.
