I am making a MASSIVE call for 2014

good chance he might... I wish dimma would stop telling everyone how we are "gunna play jack up the ground" - i think its silly
Playing Jack up the ground is very clever. He is always going to take the number one defender, and if he drags them up the ground that leaves Ty with a lesser player against him and he can use his height to his advantage

I think we saw how this theory worked against Carlton in the elim final. I am a big rap for vickers in our forward line, but a fully fit jack should be coming out of the square if we want to play to our optimum level. He is a completely different beast to his cousin nick who has the right attributes to play up the ground. Jacks lack of pace means he does not. IMO it's stupid to use a dual Coleman medallist as a decoy.

He's not just a decoy though. He's also very creative in getting the ball and with his use. This he can use in any part of the ground.

If McBean plays all 22 games which is very unlikely, he will be our third leading goal scorer next year.

That might have been a big call before Hardwick said that Jack would be playing up the ground next year. Certainly not a massive call now. Don't really care who kicks the most goals. I just hope it functions better than it did last year.

Not convinced Jack playing further upfield is the answer. He's our best kick for goal inside 45 metres.

I don't see how we can fit McBean into our team atm without an injury or Ivan being rested

I know very unlikely but if he did manage to play all 22 games, which most likely won't happen. I believe he would be able to like cameron this year only 19.

I'd make another huge call and say it's Aaron Edwards who will kick more goals than Jack Riewoldt

The dream for me is Mcbean FF,jack CHF AND Tyrone off the leash.
That or Tyrone CHF and Jack running amok.
It's a few years off but shit that would be awesome and they are all young enough to make it work.

Jack is by far the most talented forward on our list.

An injured, out of form, low on confidence, out of position Jack Riewoldt playing up the ground would still likely kick more goals than anyone else on our list.

He's a goal kicking master and criminally underrated!

Ty is good too, but he's no Jack.

Now this is a MASSIVE call. Way to show them how it's done NBT! I wonder what odds you'd get for that?

Hardwick seems to think we can fit all 4 in our team.

Maric (Ruck+Forward), Hampson (Ruck), Jack (CHF), Vickery (Forward), Mcbean (Forward)

May be a little slow but with improved delivery into our forward line this could be one of the best attacks in the league.
Who do we play as that lock down forward? Arnott? S.Edwards?

I would like to see S.Edwards with a more permanent role in the forward line with the 6th spot used for resting mids
Cotchin, Martin, Deledio, Arnott etc.

If we match up too tall against some sides i guess we can drop Mcbean for Mcdonough or King. I would prefer we get games into Mcdonough

Jack cant kick for shit now. Seriously, his conversion has almost been shot to shit in the past 2 years. If he cant nail the chances he gets, then sorry, others will get the opportunity to own the 30 metre arc.
58-33 and 65-48 would be on or better than AFL average I'd guess. 62-26 in 2011 would be the anomaly.

All I meant was that dimma should just keep it hush hush. I understand what happens by jack playing that role.. just think its silly that every off season for like 2 years now dimma has shared his plans. Keeping them guessing is what I'd like to see.

I really don't like our small forward stocks.

Not only is there a lack of talent, but even our best and most important small forwards have poor goal accuracy.

We work too hard for our goals and poor kicking makes it even worse.

I 100% agree he could be like Cameron...question is when will he get a game? BIG preseason ahead for beany.

Shane Edwards should play forward more so than midfield. He is very dangerous. But his good hands and evasiness are great at centre clearances when he is in the middle.
