From my experience guys shut girls down far less than girls shut guys down.
The fact you asked a guy out is a huge step forward in evolution, if only more chicks would do the same.
I am tired of chicks never making the first move or asking guys out, and guys never know how chicks feel.
Usually I found out chicks like me after they stop liking me or find someone else, and then get ridiculed by mates for letting her slip and given evils by her friends.
