I hope we don't pick up Graham or Mcgough

I'd rather if we just threw Archibald in defence and Gilmore in the middle, it would be much more worth while than picking up crap rejects . The only player I would go for is Knobel because of his tap out ability. I was watching Knobel on Optus and he has a long kick and a big leap. He is capable of taking decent marks. He is a pretty decent ruckman and would be the most mobile 202cm player behind Ottens. If we pick up Knobel, our ruck department would be quite strong. Knobel is no dud, he just didn't get any possesions in his his last 2 games. Let's get him

I get the feeling we will pick up Graham, mainly due to the fact that we have no backline. He has commenced training with us, so the coaches will know whether or not to take the risk on him.

As for McGough, i am under the impression that he is still under contract. So lets pick him up, put him on minimum salary, and let the pies pay for the rest of his contract!

Almost worth it just to punish those black and white ferrals!!

Graham could be useful with the development of players such as Jackson. Without Graham, Jacko will have to take the 2nd of 3rd best defender which could be detrimental to his career as being forced to play on great players so early on could wear him out physically (similar to what happened with Josh Fraser at Collingwood)

So I believe having an experienced player like Graham will give players like Jacko and Archibald the opportunity to mature their bodies and prolong their careers.

i agree. we should take graham if he is still capable of playing, just as a stop-gap for a couple of years. as for mcgough collingwood have paid out his contract i believe so if he is picked up he will still have to be paid. someone correct me if i am wrong.

If McGough is slow now what's he going to be like in 5 years? Rather Graham as it's definately only a temp choice as we'll have the young players to fill up the backline the following year. Reckon we'll be taking 2 recycled players. One defender and one backup ruckman, our midfield will be full of youth.
We can't throw too many kids into the backline to get thrashed as it might hamper their confidence and development. The Ruckman will be drafted as backup as we don't ever want to be in the situation where Ray Hall is playing in the ruck - we need to develop Ray in another area.
Why would we draft a player like McGough after delisting a similar type in Fleming.

The main objective of our game is to get your hands on the bill and do something with it. As far as I am concerned McGough has the ability to do that.
