In the last quarter i was surfing the radio stations and at some stage David Wildy said the way the Crows are playing they would have to be a real chance to beat port next week.

Since 05 we are 6/1 it looks like we have come through this one ok we get a extra days break they play Sydney who will run them around and around

Exactly, I thought last year's first SD would be blow out their way, but history tells another story.

I think since Ayres took over the better of the two teams has generally won the showdowns far more often than not. Port dominated the comp from a win loss perspective from about 2001-2004 and dominated showdowns in that time. In 2005 Craig took over as Crows coach and we had a period of domination which was also reflected in the showdown results.

Last year was probably the exception to that where we won both showdowns despite Port finishing higher. But I'd argue that Port weren't that much better than us and their second place finish was not a true reflection of their ability.
