Last season, first game of the cricket season i pulled my quad. Thought i ripped it apart.

Was stuffed all week. went and saw a chinese acupuncturist ( i admit i was sceptical ) on the Thursday night. Played that week, no signs of the injury.

Best $50 i could have spent.

I think you'd be better off asking a physio or a doctor, rather than bunch of people on the internet whose only exercise is trips to the fridge.

pulling your quad is for pussies, i lacerated 2 of my quadricep muscles completely and i am left with a massive lump halfway up my quad. Admittingly now i cannot play footy and after an afternoons cricket on Saturday, Sunday and Monday are not pleasant. Good luck with your little strain, lucky bugger!

haha yeah sorry I only pulled my quad.

You can tear or strain your quad. If you've torn it you're pretty f****d for a while, so don't plan on getting much running in.

I'd be hoping you've only strained it, if you can still jog on it then it's only a mild strain, but they can be bitches as well. Strained my quad kicking a soccer ball around on a hockey ground (supergrass stuff) back in June this year when I was doing recruit training. Stopped running for about 5 minutes then it felt alright and so the PTIs told me to get the f88k back on the ground and I blew it out again.

I tried to manage it for about 5 days after that, continuing to do sport and jogging at work but then it got to the stage where I couldn't run at all and struggled to climb up any stairs. Went to the medics and got a chit it got so bad. Took me probably 3 months to get over it properly, when I ran I would always pull up real sore in the quad and I didn't chance myself with many sprints.

Like groins they require rest, a strain will go away after a little while, push it and tear something, goodbye 6-8 weeks of your season

Thanks acuguy, If he doesn't like the thread he should get out.

Well i'm playing indoor footy tonight!

You can stretch it, I got told that by some fitness dude named FadeAway :D

TeamMo what is your name? My brother said just then that a guy in his cricket team did his quad as well, maybe that's you? :D
