Well, it clearly my petition thread has been bumped, much to my embarrassment.

I am man enough to say that i thought the club was wrong in sacking Fevola, and that the club would be set back. I thought we would struggle to kick goals, and after years of waiting for us to get off the bottom, after finally reaching what was thought to be a premiership window, the club has thrown it back into our faces.

Well, i for one was wrong. Despite the few expected troubles of finding a focal point in our forward line, the club has adapted quite nicely, and has recoueperated nicely.

I made the mistake of losing faith in the club, and hopefully it won't happen again. Then again, I lost faith in Ratts mid season, only time will prove me wrong, and once again i will stand up and say i was wrong.

Any other takers?

I wasn't part of any protest, but I was in despair when the shitstorm broke. I was especially in despair when it was likely we'd end up with Bradshaw and Rischitelli in return.

I was upset at how the media-hyped fury was allowed to leap into our administration and dictate how we reacted to what was a lurid laundry list of ridiculous rumours. Once the admin raised the stakes I accepted straight away that he had to go. They couldn't back down from that.

The trade as it went through was a major relief. We'd still take a hit in the short term, but I was confident we'd be better off in the long term with two new ten-year players.

I figured us for 10th at the start of the year, but I was wrong. The forward line has worked out far better than we had any right to expect.

SoV recovered from his ACL brilliantly (albeit with a false start). Hendo slowly gathered form and experience ending in a solid season, and the now forgotten Irish held up the attack for the first half of the year until injured. The three amigos mostly did their job, with solid support from Robbo and Houlihan. That's a bunch of wins up front, with the only losses being that we couldn't keep them all up the whole season.

I wanted Fev gone a long time ago
But with regard to this current situation lets see how it turns out.
Surely Fev would not be that stupid

I was also one that bemoaned (but didn't protest) the sacking of Fev. But to be honest, I'm wondering to what extent Fev's life has spiraled even further out of control since he was traded from Carlton.

It just seems as though whatever real support network he had was removed and now he's destined to go down as one of the tragedies of modern football.

It's a shame really, the guy definitely has (footballing) talent.

The club was criticised by many supporters for trading Fevola last year. Credit to Sticks, Swann and Ratts for making the trade happen - it is probably one of the best decisions the club has made.

Well done mate... takes some balls to admit you were wrong about the whole Fev thing...

Well played...

Kudos to your for admitting it, well done! :thumbsu:

I'm of the opposite camp. I wanted Fev gone long ago and I was almost resigned to us losing him for nothing last year. My jaw hit the floor when I heard of the LOLions trade. We've done well this year, and we'll do even better next year.

I must admit though, that I'm starting to actually worry about Fev's well being. He could really go off the deep end if the LOLions sack him. Poor bugger.

The first step in the the road to recovery is to admit you have a problem.:)

Brave effort to admit you were wrong. It was very grey period and I don't think any of us really knew the right course of action. My gut feel at the time was we needed to get rid of him and couldn't see us really succeeding with him there.

It seems the Fevola sacking has worked out for us - one the club got right !!

This thread had a few tools who turned out wrong as well.

Terrible idea - Carlton would take a step back without him. Need his skill and experience in this young group.

Terrible thread

You're terrible Muriel.

Righto, a bloke who's proposing that we send one of our best players and one of the best forwards in the competition to the Gold Coast is telling me to grow a brain.

Well done.

Wonder if he ever grew a brain?

we had the same debate when his contract was up and there were some seriously talented players on offer. I for one was happy to lose him then when he had just won a Coleman. Is his value as good now?
