That is such a silly question. If he is in our best 22, and we are contending (like this year), keep playing him. Age is only a consideration if we moved into a non-contending phase and we saw a development opportunity for someone else.

Am hopeful that he sees that as a distinct possibility with the new coaching group and the youngsters coming along. Also being able to pass on your knowledge to others is often quite inspirational in itself.
Macrae mentioned in a presser that Sidey was breaking personal bests in the weights room in the twilight of his career and on field I think his tackling and physical pressure are career best this year.
I think both Pendles and Sidey have a lot to offer over the next couple of years before retirement which hopefully will be their choices and not forced.
It will be a sad day when we see Pendles in an opposition huddle as assistant coach.

I asked the question to give an idea how unlikely it is for someone his age to contribute to a premiership team. Key word unlikely not impossible. I’ve never dismissed then possibility Pendlebury might contribute to the next premiership. I think a few in this thread need to stop jumping to conclusions and getting offended off the back of things I never said. I never said Pendlebury should be dropped.

There seems to be a cohort of posters just waiting to jump on every fumble or missed target from Pendlebury, and use it to justify moving him on. The man is still a huge asset to the side.

Good to see people admit they were wrong. Often on Bigfooty they try and claim the credit for motivating players into “turning the corner” when no corner actually needed to be turned.

Sidebottom was alway best 22 and has always justified his spot in the side. His last month has been outstanding but prior to that, it was plenty good enough.

Looking forward to the “ I was wwwwwwrong about WHE” and “ I was wwwwwwrong about Cox” and “ I was wwwwwwrong about Cameron” threads next!!!!!

Personally, I was wrong about Cameron. I always thought he was a good reliable handy player but didn’t bring anything to the team that we already had. But he’s proven me wrong…. Not the other way around… I haven’t motivated him to be better……
