The gays only won because they had a team crammed full of AFL charity handouts : Bode, Angwin, Handby, Harwood, K Cornes. Plus Damian Squire withdrew before the game. throw in the fact that eastaugh must have sucked off the umpire before the game and you have the reasons why Glenelg won. YOU STILL ONLY HAVE 4 PREMIERSHIPS BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

That seems the only excuse that Sturt supporters seem to use these days after a Sturt loss. How about you start using the excuse that Sturt supporters used in the early 90's. You know the one, STURT SUCKS. Oh thats right Sturt didn't have any supporters in the early 90's so no one would know that excuse.

Uh oh, looks like eastaugh's got some competition for the biggest w***er on bigfooty.com award.

First you say we used that excuse and then you say we didn't have any supporters then so how could they have said it in the first place? Have you been taking English lessons from eastaugh36?

Gee there's something unusual. Sturt supporters whinging when opposition sides have AFL registered players in there team.

Don't you ********s ever get sick of that excuse. How about facing the fact that when the game was there to be won yesterday the Carmen Whingers ran out of legs and were beaten by a better team on the day.

Quit whinging about the AFL players in other sides. The excuse is starting to wear thin.

Note that Glenelg's last 2 premiership coaches came to the club from South Adelaide.

With the current league coach, assistant coach and reserves coach all having previously been at South, I'd say that's a good omen for the Bays this year!

They had to choose an ex south player. We've all seen how their home grown product perform in the coaching role. McGuinness, McDermott, Hodgeman and Symonds are names that come to mind.

Just to preempt your devastating comeback Easty, I know McDermott didnt coach the Bays.. still a piss poor coach in anyones language.

You cant judge them on their coaching record, they all had very average teams to coach ,victory is sweet !

Im sorry but isnt that what makes a coach a good or great coach. Its people like Blight and Sheedy that take shit lists and make them premiership material. Thats why none of those bums are good coaches..cos they couldnt do anything with the list

I'm sorry Humphrey B, Sturt did have supporters in the early 90's but none of them actually went to watch Sturt play. Also none of them admitted to anybody that they were Sturt supporters.

Humphrey you are a fine one for having a go at my English. Have you ever considered the concept of using fullstops or comma's?. I ran out of breath trying to read your reply.

*AHEM*

So Carb youre trying to tell us that you'd go to a game against Sturt and there'd be no opposition supporters? Get real. Sturt may have been bottom but at least the club had a cheer squad during that time, when more succesful clubs did not. I think it is a credit to the suporters of the SFC who managed to stick by them during one of the darkest times for any club in the SANFL and testament to the amount of support the club has. Most clubs in the SANFL wouldnt survive a time like that let alone emerge stronger at the end. I understand that Glenelg were in diabolical financial straits recently, another spoon or 2 and we can head off to bunnings to get a packet of nails to hammer in the lid of the GFC's coffin.

There would be no more than a hundred sturt supporters at the port games i went to. I remember reading that at a sturt v south game there was only 900 people there or something.

Blues_Brat, you meantion Glenelg's coach being an ex-South player. Do you even have any idea where Phil Carman played. Heres a hint.....not Sturt.

Thats right Blues_Brat the only Sturt supporters I would see at games was the cheer squad and thats about it. I know Sturt supporters who didn't go to the football for years and when 1998 came around and Sturt were on top they all of a sudden became passionate Sturt supporters again. I have no problem with the loyal Sturt supporter only these idiots that jump on the bandwagon but then again I must admitt that happens at every club, even Port.

I've been a Blues man since '78 and I haven't missed a game since '92. I'm sure you won't believe that and will have a lame little dig at me but it's the truth. I'm against bandwagon fans as much as the next footy fan but there are people who always generalise, assuming just because Sturt are winning games now that all the fans are bandwaggoners.
