That seems the only excuse that Sturt supporters seem to use these days after a Sturt loss. How about you start using the excuse that Sturt supporters used in the early 90's. You know the one, STURT SUCKS. Oh thats right Sturt didn't have any supporters in the early 90's so no one would know that excuse.

They had to choose an ex south player. We've all seen how their home grown product perform in the coaching role. McGuinness, McDermott, Hodgeman and Symonds are names that come to mind.
Just to preempt your devastating comeback Easty, I know McDermott didnt coach the Bays.. still a piss poor coach in anyones language.

You cant judge them on their coaching record, they all had very average teams to coach ,victory is sweet !

First you say we used that excuse and then you say we didn't have any supporters then so how could they have said it in the first place? Have you been taking English lessons from eastaugh36?
Originally posted by carb70:
I'm sorry Humphrey B, Sturt did have supporters in the early 90's but none of them actually went to watch Sturt play. Also none of them admitted to anybody that they were Sturt supporters.

So Carb youre trying to tell us that you'd go to a game against Sturt and there'd be no opposition supporters? Get real. Sturt may have been bottom but at least the club had a cheer squad during that time, when more succesful clubs did not. I think it is a credit to the suporters of the SFC who managed to stick by them during one of the darkest times for any club in the SANFL and testament to the amount of support the club has. Most clubs in the SANFL wouldnt survive a time like that let alone emerge stronger at the end. I understand that Glenelg were in diabolical financial straits recently, another spoon or 2 and we can head off to bunnings to get a packet of nails to hammer in the lid of the GFC's coffin.

Thats right Blues_Brat the only Sturt supporters I would see at games was the cheer squad and thats about it. I know Sturt supporters who didn't go to the football for years and when 1998 came around and Sturt were on top they all of a sudden became passionate Sturt supporters again. I have no problem with the loyal Sturt supporter only these idiots that jump on the bandwagon but then again I must admitt that happens at every club, even Port.
