Basically its

C-Russell
PF-Duncan
SF-Bird
SG-Jordan
PG-Magic

Bench
C Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal
F Bob Pettit, John Havlicek
G Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Bob Cousy

COACH
Red Auerbach

most obvious No Wilt!No malone

Its a pretty shitty effort if you ask me,he hasnt even justified why Malone,Barkley arent in there.if your going to name a side like this you have to put in a better case for and against.

I would have Wilt in over Kareem because you know when a player has impacted the league when they start changing rules to limit you.
Malone in for Havilcek as wll

Guard nearly pick themselves but Isiah unlucky to miss out

thoughts?

Russell, Bird, Magic, Kareem and MJ - no doubt.

Tim Duncan/Pettit/Robertson I have no issue with

Include -

I would say Wilt the Stilt in for Shaq is the most obvious.

Ave 30 pts / 22 RPG .....c'mon he was the most dominant offensive force around and it was only Russell and the C's that stood in his way.

Cousy/Havelicik/West/Foreman ....close call but they are all very, very good

Stockton/Malone/Barkley/Hakeem/Isiah ...all could be unlucky.

It is all very hard to do....I think personally I would rate the list a pretty good effort.

As I say Wilt would appear to be the only glaring change and then Shaq would go on the unlucky list.

Red of course is an absolute dead cert.

I think its a lot easier to pick teams from decades rather than All-Time, because you'd never really get a definitive answer. Stockton is one that I would have definitely put in, but it's a tough thing to put together.

Havlicek is one of the greatest ballers ever!!

One of the best big time clutch players ever too.

And on top of that one of the games best defenders.

If the Celtics are the greatest franchise ever then the man who leads them in points(10th overall in NBA history) and games must be something special to hold that honour in a time when they dominated the game.

First player in the NBA's history to score 1000 points in 16 consecutive seasons.

Added to that he's got 8 rings ;)

His winning record is better than Malone or Barkleys.

SLAM had him in their top 15 greatest ballers ever.

Maybe the guy didn't say why he should be in the team because his record speaks for itself.

It's incredible, so much talent on display yet no one could give a **** about watching them.

Tim 'Fundamental ****ing' Duncan could bore anyone.

I like watching Duncan. Especially on defense, there's no-one even close.

Cleveland killed the finals, not the Spurs. Their entire offense consists of;

Bill Simmons said:
a play called "22 Heave," in which LeBron stutter-steps from 22 feet with two guys on him, jumps backward and launches a terrible shot as the shot clock is winding down.
(Note: Please don't confuse this with "23 Heave," in which LeBron stutter-steps from 23 feet with two guys on him, jumps backward and launches a terrible shot as the shot clock is winding down.)

I don't like to quote to make a point, but that's just perfectly said.

Anyways, if they wanted good Finals, they'd switch Phoenix over to the East, and have the the Spurs-Suns Finals go 15 games, with Tim Donaghy making a surprise comeback in game 15, with money on "over 280".

But West is "the logo"
West > Havlicek

;)

Now that would be worth watching!

Nice use of a SG quote to back up your argument as well.
