Ibbo really won me over today. I knew he was skilful and I knew he was classy but I was a little worried about his work ethic and commitment to the cause.

But not anymore. Some of his last ditch efforts in defence today to spoil and tackle showed as much desperation as you could demand from even the most hardened experienced defender. And he's shown a few times this year that he's not scared to throw himself back to mark the ball.

We've got a bona fide star on our hands here people. Probably the best of all our youngsters.

Given he was drafted so young it shows how good players can come on slowly. I think its his 3rd year at the club.

It was an interesting draft selection because he was a bit left field at the time as was Robbie Warnock. It was good of the club to select them ... but of course we only recognise smarty when he picks the duds.

Its always been my opinion is that our draft picks are at least as successful as other clubs. Its the trading that has let us down at times, and more specifically the Josh Carr trade where we gave up 3 draft picks.

Yes Ibbo has and will be a very good player and can see him developing into a player like simon black (which is a good thing).

The amazing thing about him is that he actually hasn't played Aussie Rules until he was 15.
