how good would it be?

for those who have the game, try and put aside the terrible team setup error just for the moment..

How good is the game, as in gameplay and stuff?

All they did was change the 3 to a 4 and announced a new game.

That's not quite true.

Major bug aside, I happen to enjoy playing this game. It's not perfect, and you have to time things well for them to come off (ie.marks), but it's enjoyable nonetheless.

Excuse me if I enjoy winning a game, but having watched Richmond play like sh1t for the last 15 weeks, I enjoy a few easy wins. The game is not always a pushover...but then again, some of us don't spend every waking hour playing dozens of computer games...The way some of you guys carry on seems to be very "comic book guy" from The Simpsons like (ie. shut up nerds!).

For the common fan, this game is challenging enough, and a fairly decent representation of AFL football. It's not perfect, and the team glitch is certainly annoying, but it's playable and nowhere near as bad as some make it out to be.

The game has improved on last years model, and hopefully will continue to improve. Nothing is ever perfect. That is why most franchises put out a new edition each year. Some of you guys need to lighten up a bit, and go outside for a while.

Mate I understand that. I think would most are trying to get at is that this company makes millions of dollars. They cant afford to make a mistake (or several) in this sort of industry.

The only think I really like about it is that its football. Why I love the game (real one) so much is while I like AFL Live 2004. I just like to see figures with the name Coughlan, Ottens and Newman on there. Seeing what sorts of stats they are going to get etc.

If an NFL game the same standard as AFL LIVE 2004 was released, the game would hardly sell at all. Look at Madden, and how good that game is, and how the players actually look like the players. Sure, acclaim has less money to work with, but instead of a half-assed effort, they could have learnt from last years mistakes and made a decent game!

Problem is, the core market that defines the viability of the game is the hardcore nerds. Appealing to the common fan be damned, the common fan buys far less computer games than nerddom does.

I wouldn't bother...

I rented it on PS2 for the weekend, and I was sick of it by the time I took it back.

But I must admit, I didn't try playing a match on 'hard'.

soft!!

:p

Looks like I'll be buying Madden again.

Although it is only one screw up it is a pretty damn big one, I agree in that it hasn't changed much other then a few small changes, but then again you get that in a follow uo game. To make the 2005 version interesting they will probly make a draft, and trade pereiod after the season and maybee a few slight game changes, few up grades in the graphics and wholla
A brand NEW game
