I think all those players, except Houlihan, could get delisted...Norman is also a chance of getting delisted.

Question is more how we replace 14 players?

I'd probably keep:

Davies -deserves a chance - an extra 5 kilo of muscle would make a world of difference.
Sporn - still hope he can regain his form he showed previously...think he deserves another chance
Houlihan - would trade rather than delist...we can probably get a 1st or 2nd rounder for him.
Deluca - we need a backup ruckman as recent massacres prove - wouldn't miss him to much if we secured a decent ruckman in the PSD. Don't think Bryan can be a fulltime ruckman although I rate him highly.
Morrell - Even if he doesn't make the team - he's a versatile player who can fill holes back and forward...as injuries to Livingston and Thornton proved, we need someone capable of filling these holes. A skinny 18-19 year old (unless they are the next Brown or Reiwoldt) is not going to do this and we have no one else.

Can we get rid of Longmuir and Chambers? I thought they we on two year contracts - don't really rate either. Longmuir is going to struggle also with Fishers return.

I think if we delist 14 players and replace them with late draft picks we will definitely finish bottom for another 2-3 years. As someone else said, late draft picks have a very small chance of making it and are even less likely to have an immediate impact. I think we should delist a maximum of 10 players and replace them with Setanta and Jesse Smith + 6 draft picks + 2 PSD picks.

you can only really get rid of 6-8 players per season unless you have a total re-build, we have gone through that and now it is time to keep drafting young players on the current group we got this season.

Houlihan will stay unless someone offers us a fantastic trade for him.

Chambers and Longmuir are only in their first year at the club, so i'd be surprised to see them go, especially given Chambers injuries throughout the year.

De Luca is a second year player, there is no way we'd delist him/

Johnson and Bowyer have been getting games, so unless we can get a hardball winning midfielder (maybe Bentick) who can play 20 games next year and a hard defender, they will stay.

Wiggins, Prendergast and Morrell are all iffy. Wiggins has good husstle and i think Pagan really respects that. Preda, as we know has a lot of heart, i think he would be much better in a top 6 team. Digby seems to be playing really well in the Bullants, on the basis of that (and our lack of quality talls) i'd keep him on.

I think Clarke is the only certainty to go.

IMO there will not be wholesale changes at the end of the year. 7-8 will be the most to be traded/delisted.

But i think because we have been so poor we have to hold onto players that better teams would delist. You can't delist 10 players and expect to get 10 better players in return. Make way for draft picks yes, but i can't see the point - in our case - of cleaning house because of poor performance, it doesn't remove the heart of the problem (which Pagan notes is talent).

Brett Johnson was held in fairly high regard at Hawthorn. Could have been retained but there were too many of his type - midfielders settled in the side before him.

If he has a deficiency it is a tendency to lack pace.

Johnson and Bowyer will stay for sure... they provide some form of depth to us.

Bowyer is okay, Johnson is good enough, likewise McGrath... can play some blinders in patches. Both provide depth for us, they can allow Kouta, Stevo and Campo to have a break as they have a quick stint in the centre.

We can't delist everyone... the rebuilding period will take 3 - 4 years before we have no recognisable duds.
