I think we are all in agreeance that the youth policy has to be employed in our trading this year and for the next couple. Therefore, with ottens leaving and in demand i think we can really get some good value for him so this is what i would dearly wish to happen in our trade period:

Ottens ---> geelong for pick 16 and tenace.
Zantuck and rodan ---> Melbourne for Jolly and Lamb.
Pick 16 ---> Port Adelaide for Salopek
PSD ---> P Bowden

The introduction of Nth Melbournes interest in ottens can assist in us getting a better deal, and if Geelong think they are that close to a premiership and ottens is the missing link surely they would have to give this very serious consideration?!
Hopefully we will pick up Deledio with Pick 1 and Frankilin with pick 4 because we will need a good young KPP and with the intro of tenace and salopek we can skip on tambling and the like.
We also keep our original draft picks 20,36,52 etc and hopefully should be able to pick up some decent players with them

Jolly and Lamb are both young around 21-22 as is Bowden and will provide some bigger bodies. If we could manage to pull some trading like this off we will be well on the way! its a long shot but it would be tremendous!!

Dont make the trades any more one sided but anywho we'll say it again:
Wojcinski, Moloney, Enright or Mooney you might get, but you wont get Tenace!. And if Steve Salopek is going for pick 16, which I doubt he will, we'll be swapping it for him and not for Ottens.

Sorry to intrude boys, but i have to pick up on a few points.

We do not have 'many players like' Kane Tenace. Kane is quick, skillful and a low draft pick (Believe it or not, it counts for something). He was the first of our young guns to win a Rising Star Nomination and has really found his niche alongside fellow Shepp boys, King and Shannon Byrnes.

Furthermore, Ottens will not win us a Premiership.

We dont have many players like Tenace, he is going to be very special. We have plenty of "Good" players eg Moloney Wojcinski and Enright. These are the ones we would most likely trade. I know for fact Tenace and wont be traded and Wojcinski will be done so reluctantly and they are still confident on Ottens, so either a deal with another player has been done or they are confident the tihers will give Ottens for less.

Tenace would be on a 2 year contract under AFL rules. Even if Geelong agreed to trade him, he would basically have to put his hand up and say he wanted to come to Richmond without being put under "any duress".

Ok moloney is decent but we need to add some pace, wojinski may provide this however i am not totally sold on him. Joel Corey is a player i like but i know cats fans are also big fans and the likelihood of you guys giving him aren't great. Is he expendable for ottens?

The word from an official at the richmond football club is that wallace is showing a great interest in the young foward steve johnson form the cats, and would probably be quiet happy if he can get a straight swap ottens for johnson.

I dont have foxfooty so its a pretty rare opputunity that i get to see geelong free to air,however i do recall him against Brisbane earlier this year and thought he showed plenty of promise . Other then that,i can only go by others opinions and what i can gleen from the papers.

Zantuck is a moron and I don't care where he ends up - probably p*ssed at a nightclub at 4am again. Like to keep Rodan - we need the pace.
We need a Ruckman but if it's someone like Jolly then only at minimal expense, Lamb might be alright. Salopek yes.
P. Bowden? from what I've seen of him he hasn't inspired greatness.

one good year doth not make a dynasty. the cats will be hunted next year. every week they will have to play teams intent on knocking off a top 4 side. this and poor form, injuries, or just bad luck may see them drop down the ladder. remember 2001 people? i know their younger but we see this EVERY year, a club thinking they are about to dominate next year and you watch the media will talk them up all summer, but when it comes to the crunch there is no guarantee that the cats will even make the 8 next year.
