Not meaning to be too overly optimistic,
but in 1993 after 9 rounds we were 3 wins, 5 losses and a draw.
Ended up in a grand final.

for chrissakes if you support this team support them,
don't start with the long bows after round 8.

A few here are getting fairly sh**ty with ridiculous expectations.

i have actually seen this club win '79,
(and the club was nearly destroyed in the George Harris/Jezza v Ian Rice fiasco)

81,82,87,95, was there , 83 night grand final v richmond.

86 loss, 93 loss, 99 loss, even the '77 night grand final loss when Doullie done his nanna and attacked Kevin Ablett.

In fact i have been to every Carlton grand final since 1979, and i tell you what, these blokes have given me as much pleasure in life as anything i have experienced, and that is seeing the vatican, sitting with gorillas in the congo,
even stupid buckingham palace.
And remember this club has been hamstrung by the AFL in regards to draft picks, salary cap infringments, and priority picks.
Essendon, Hawthorn and Melbourne were also all over, but none and i repeat NONE of those clubs were penalised with anything more than a feather.
It is bloody hard to put a winning side on the field with picks from 2 years ago that started at around 45, remember they had to pick for the future, Simpson turned up at Carlton weighing in at 63 kilos.
So all you pseudo, "its round 8 and i've had enough, coaches"
p$ss off, a club with a history as decorated as mine doesn't need you.
Remember we are the only club that calls ourselves "FAMOUS" in it's theme song.

Completely agree. It's round 8 people! Sure we have been shocking the last few weeks but it can turn around just as quickly. The way some supporters have conducted themselves has been disapointing.

Yeah.. that is proper knowledge and support.

It's hard to see this club being humiliated.. that's why we are upset.

Carlton fans are not used to this.. this is the best football club in the league.. we struggle to cop hammerings from clubs that have battled to win their flags.

call it arrogant.. whatever....

just like to say as a magpie supporter , i know exactly how you feel.the supporters of some of the teams who are going ok for a change , are really sticking the boots into our clubs.but we know that being such powerful clubs , we will be back in a couple of seasons.and that clubs like melbourne and st kilda will fall back to earth with a thud.and when they have a good season and still cant make a profit that they will be the teams that will have to relocate.then we will see whos laughing then,

Agree totally igt22265, good post, some of the crap that has flown from segments of Carlton supporters had been amazing.
Attaching Pagan at every opportunity, his game plan, his recycled players one day heros and hopless the next. Taking cheap shots
We were unfortunately caught out cheating the system and were made an example of by the AFL by handing out severe and drastic penilties.
Less established clubs would have been wiped out.
This brought on massive changes to the clubs culture and administration, all not without pain.
So lets support this great club during it’s time of rebiulding.
We are a very important part of the history that is the Australian Football League.
All Blues supporters should walk bloody proud at all times, and if they can’t ******** off.
