well not in the way so much but just made it a bit more crowded for a fleet of foot RUZZZZZ

I'll bloody take it too!!!

A poor effort apart from the first quarter.. would have prefered to see them stick out a full good game but at the end of the day, a win's a win and I'll take it any day for sure!
Thank f*ck for Didak's kick, and hows about Buckley's speckie and goal to put us within a goal!? Ahhh good end to a sh*tter of a game. I'm rapt!

You'll take it, thank god Didak decided to actually play in the 50m arc and kick truely!

Other than HEATH SHAW and Bucks to a lesser extent who was the only reason we stayed in the game, f**king **** poor effort. The win has not only secured aour position in the eight, it may have also saved the careers of several players for another couple of weeks at least. The biggest one of them all, MICK MALTHOUSE!

Is there any other team in the competition that plays as wide as we do?
Is there any other team that head to the boundary line at all costs?
Is there any other team, apart from Hawthorn perhaps, that flood back as much as we do?
Is there any other coach in the league that refuses to play a close checking opponent when an opposition player is clearly carving us up?

Amazing to see what happens when we move the ball quickly through the middle and can kick to a leading target. We piled on the goals.

Second half of the second quarter and the entire second half, lets bl**dy chip it round the boundary line, by the time we get it forward, we might be able to pin point a pass with 30 blokes in the forward 50m or kick to a bloke on the lead with 3 players on him.

A wins a win, showed character to come back in the last after playing sh*thouse footy. Lets hope that galvanises the team for the next two rounds and leading into the finals.

collingwood fans i would just like 2 place my thoughts about dane swans performance 2night....... i thout that he was terrible!! he gets so many cheap possesions and didnt seem 2 make an impact...... wat r ur thouts on his performance 2night?

Port played totally negating tactics after there surge. We are an attacking and fast paced side but we are not a skilled and very quick side as far as our talent so we are easily shut down and we can't change the tempo.

The players who played ok and may be excused are: Buckley, H.Shaw, Rusling, , Johnson, Clement and borderline were Lockyer, R.Shaw, Egan. Everyone else played very well below themselves.

Iles is too raw to say the least. It's ok to play him on the dangerous players if our season is shot and we have no chance of making the finals but we are not in a situation to leave raw young kids on these dangerous fellows.

Swanny was played more in defence than in the midfield. Collingwood flooded that much tonight it was ridiculous, and chipped the ball out of defence and around the boundary line. He was on the end of thos more than most.

Would rather see Swanny in the guts as he is one of few that actually 'break the lines' in our side.

Well below his best (at least in the context of this season) but at least with some of his possesions he took the players on and was ok off the ball. It's better to get cheap possesions then none at all.

Jabso,

Egan is a absolute squib was had no impact on the game whatsoever. Rhys Shaw did some good things, disposal is still terrible. Lockyer is not in our best 22. He has to play up forward caus we have no-one else. Wasn't sighted afted quarter time.

Apart from the players you mentioned, the rest were ordinarly at best

Yeah just watched the game, 1st qtr and first half of the 2nd qtr is how we should play, try an move it fast, run run run run, long and direct and up the bloody middle. after that we just stuffed around too much, chipping, stop start, going wide....very fustrating. Started to get it back at the end of the 4th qtr. but still i thought it was a very ****e game after the 1st qtr by us. Port adelaide did well. Rusling had a great start to his game and its good to see a forward kick more then 1 goal for a change. I thought rocca was pretty cruddy except for the pass to didak at the end, i dunno hopefully taz will be back, maybe rocca should be dropped and have tarrant back in, with him on the wing for a change being the link man, that would look nice.

Buckley and Clement were their ususal fantastic disciplined selves, i sometimes wonder where wed be if we didnt have them in the side. Well i guess the upside of this is that we can only really improve on what was a below average game.

I thought Lockyer has gotten himself into some form tonight, wasnt too disappointing. I just cant seem to understand what has happened to Licuria, for the first time in my life I thought to myself, 'trade him!'. He just doesnt seem to fit in, I had more faith in the youngsters tonight when they had the ball then the older guys  I guess that can only be a good thing. Great win, stepping stone for the finals.

PieLebo87, can't agree with you on Tarkyn Lockyer. Only in the sdie because Neon and Caracella are out and we have no one else to play the small crumbing forward. Does not know the meaning of 'front and square'.

Liccuria I can, if we lost I belive many Collingwood supporters would be calling for the axe. Winning probably keeps him safe for another week or so. Looks like he is running on a treadmill.

Whether or not Neon is in or not, Lockyer did his job tonight and didnt make a single mistake in my eyes, he made the most of every situation he was in. And played as a very genuinely talented small forward (In regards to advancing the ball to Collingwoods advantage, not goal kicking)
He earns his spot for next week, even if we had a full list with everyone in form. But obviously he is still a smoky prospect for next year. I also still dont see a spot for him in next years starting 22 but who knows what can be conjured up in the next month or 2.

As for Licuria, it is really painful to watch it, how can someone fall so far below his potential, with Rocca, it looks ugly and you just want him in Willy to earn his place but with Licuria, its just painful to see. This may be premature, but I think he should do whats best for the club and make space for the up and coming midfielders, he is simply a want now, no longer a need. I'd rather see a 19yo develop his game in the midfield then watch a poor Licuria fumble and turnover the footy.

Heath Shaw tonight further justified my comments that I believe he has a Buckley-esk touch about him, he just looks like a player who oozes class, so calm, so composed. I really hope he transforms into the full-time midfield powerhouse we see he has potential to do in the next year or two.

Imagine this for a midfield with all players firing.

Fraser rucking with (Pick 8-12 [Leuy] or Meesen) relieving him for breaks up forward AND a ground force of Dane Swan, Ben Johnson, Heath Shaw & Scott Pendlebury (I left out Brodie Holland! ). This will be a midfield to be reckoned with in years to come. Lets not forget the pinch hitters who will also relieve these guys aswell with the likes of Thomas, Davies, Stanley, Egan, Didak, Davis ect!

*Settle down PieLebo87* :D :D

Yes it was sad to see Licuria play the way he played tonight, i dont think i have ever seen such a painful game from him ever like tonight. As he is my favourite player its just disappointing and sad to see him fall from what he once was. Id love to see him getting some more games, but as u said Pielebo, prehaps he has to do whats best for the club and let a youngster get in. He just looks tired and worn out, i wonder if he is carrying anything? I still think he can get back, but he just looks like he needs a rest and to refocus his energy, looks a bit lost, out of sorts.

Agree with your analysis about lockyer, he did his job and wasnt terrible. Also with your analysis on the future, it looks pretty bright, still we need to get another ruckman, josh is just getting burnt out, wish we had a viable option atm, give josh a rest (as in sharing the ruckload not being actually rested) before finals, so he is more fresh.
