Get off his bloody back! Yes i know the kid is not the most skilled player in our list, and i know he sure as hell aint the toughest! But c'mon.... get the ____ off his back!!!

He is a young kid and a developing one at that!! I remember before the start of the season most people on this board were simply expecting our players to just develop and improve. Well let him do that! Sometimes, the best way to have a player develop is to just persist with him! That's what Ratten is doing and i really hope it pays off, just to shut up and put up in the mean time!!

4 years, reg. There's a lot of truth in your post. It gets personal which is unnecessary. The people who bag him (guilty) are the same as the people who support him, in that they just want the team to win and feel it would be better off with someone else in his spot.

How long do you feel is a fair period of time to persist with a player like JR? He seems to be a slow developer although now we seem to have turned some sort of corner, perhaps he will come on more quickly.

yeah true,i think having hartlett or edwards in the side before him will help our future more better as another fisher type player is what we need in there.

Today he actually made an impact on the game and did a lot of good things. I was really pleased to see him do that.

Although its obvious he was the shittest player out there today on our team. Sad, but true. One of his turn overs cost us a goal, fact and he missed a few targets today my brother he hasnt seen a game in about a year said who is that guy his flipping shithouse? It was russel....but hey i was pleased with his performance today at last he showed something.
carlton supporters just want to see him have a crack and try his hardest and he did that today so kudos to him.

I will always cheer him on at the footy but f**k is h frustrating with his poor turnovers at time. Cost us kicking a goal kicking to Richmond end which resulted in a Pies goal (2 goal turnover in the end) and last week his turnover kick to Bannister just before 3/4 time was a major turning point in the game. He needs to get these soft / silly errors out of his game. Maybe being a top 1 0drfat pick we probably feel we should be getting more out of him??

Performed a job for the team on Sunday.

Hit up target, and he did OK. Of course he made some clangers.

While he does the job Ratten wants him to do, he'll keep getting a game and they will keep hammering him on the track to improve his "issues".

Ratten is backing him in, and I think we can all see some improvement. Of course we all want better.

They have invested heavily in Russell. I think they want to see a return.

I'm not a JR fan. I dont think he has made any significant progress over the journey.

I do belive he is trying hard. He's bulked up alot over the past 2 seasons, and if you watch closely, he actually runs and chases quite hard.

But he naturally doesnt have very much courage. Whenever he is forced to go in for the hardball it always looks manufactured.

Those who attack him personally are out of line, because at the end of the day, he's still representing our club.

Would rather see Jackson or Edwards in the side instead on any given week.
