I currently have two laptops, an HP and a Dell, but the HP picks up the same connection as the Dell so much better. While the Dell will show 2 bars, the HP usually shows 5.

Is there a way to fix this? Could I use a USB plugin to make the signal stronger or would that just improve the range?

This will greatly depend on the specs of the wireless cards each laptop has as as well as the type of wireless router you are using.

The newest and fastest version of wireless standard is wireless N.

If your able to provide model numbers for both laptops and the router I will look into it for you.

Cheers
