pretty pleased with NLM's game today. Few good grabs, few goals. Will probably play a pretty big factor with lucas now gone.

i just wanna say well done to a few key guys that stood up to fill Hirds void

McVeigh, Rama, Hille, Lloyd, Jobe, Mal and Houli imposed themselves when the game was there to be one. Very very good to see.

They were excellent, especially the captain but you forgot two VERY important players.

McPhee and NLM.

Saying that Lloyd stepped up to fill Hird's void is a bit of a disservice to Lloyd, who has also been an Essendon champion for many years, but I know what you mean. :D

I was most impressed with Jobe and McVeigh. If McVeigh can keep this up he'll beat his career-best form from last year, and Jobe could finally take the step to a really quality player. Hille could also be in for the great year he's always threatened but never delivered if he can keep it up.

Jobe and Hille seemed to have some differences with Sheeds from memory (?) so maybe the new influences are working on them already.

McVeigh is underrated and now without Hird I believe he is our best player. Houli really imressed me. As did just about every player, even JJ. Hille was awesome and hopefully we can see more consistancey out of him this season.
