Yesterday's win was very enjoyable. I believe the side played very well and it was a good day for players and supporters alike. However why is it that they can play like that yesterday and the Wiz Cup and nor get close at other times?

There are many reasons I am sure but my belief is that we are a weak team mentally. Players and teams who have a wide scope of perfomance between their best and worst have mind problems rather than skill.physical problems. Overall I believe that such people have self esteem issues that materialise in a number of ways ie; Arrogance, victim mentalities, low confidence etc.

I believe that our list playing consistent footy at full capacity would finish 7-11. The list as it is performing is a 14-16 side which is where we are at. I have provided a list of who I believe our top 10 are on ability and have ranked their potential at this time as against where I believe they are at now.

1. Fevola Ability 9 performance over this season 6
2. Kouta 9, 7.5
3. Stevens 8.75, 7
4. Whitnall 8.5, 7.5
5. Camporeale 8.25, 6
6. Lappin 8.25, 6
7. Waite 8, 7
8. Scotland 8, 5.75
9. Houlihan 8, 5.75
10.Norman 8, 4.75

Yesterday showed what certain players can do with their confidence up. I really believe that we have a core group of highly skilled players who could have us way off the bottom if they could get close to the best of their ability. I have included Norman as I believe he is already capable of playing at 8/10 level. Others like Walker, Simpson and even Davies could also get there in time. Others such as Hartlett, Russell, O'halphin, Blackwell, Betts I have not seen enough of to make an assessment. Ohters like Thornton are also already 8/10 and is very honest in his consistency. Didnt want to go through the whole list but believe that we do have the cattle to be much more compeditive than we have been.

Simpson, Bentick and Carrazzo all playing midfield. All team players doing the team things. Putting pressure on there opponents and tackling and chasing.
We have missed that all season.
Young hungry players with the right attitude can have that effect.

I reckon we've played positive football since the Freo game. We've gone all out attack! Some days it works, other days it won't. Yesterday we couldn't do a thing wrong. I mean 7 goals straight in the first term. That would make any team frustrated. And it just kept going. We grew in confidence. We got a genuine sniff... and the hunger followed. If I hadn't eaten in 11 weeks and someone dangled a taco infront of me, I would step over my own mother to get it. That was Carlton!
