They say it's open world but from that demo if you go off track a block or 2 it says abandoning mission and the screen goes black & white, then re-starts.
Because it's a demo, no open-world demo lets you explore the entire map, that would be insanely stupid.

Indeed it would be. Hope it isn't like that in the actual game though.
Nope, won't be(99% sure), as I said, any open-world demo has the same thing and it's HIGHLY rare that an actual open-world game has that for missions.

Re demo vids on page 7.
At the end of 4/4 the guy says "it's hard or he's crappy at it".

I personally found it to be much harder than it looked. (the enemies)
The hero (blue lightning/train part) was easy enough but once you turn inFamous, bad & get the red lightning it got harder. Did 2 side missions. 1 completed & 1 I still haven't finished. Has a boss type ending & he carries a deadly accurate gatling gun.

I just made it in a second to get the code because I couldn't remember what it was, I'll tell you when I can remember :o But it's probably Eagles158.

The one I used was Hubcap 5 lol

I'll download the game off peak, as I'm approaching my download limit...

Saw it for sale today and almost picked it up, didn't check to see if it was a pre order copy. When someone gets it would love to hear the reviews on it.

You sure? Could've just been in the "Coming soon" section, I have done that before, usually has a price and everything, usually looks official, but is only a pre-showing for people to know it is coming out.

It was in EB in a display of their exclusive pack, I didn't look that hard at it because I was only just passing by. I didn't see the usual pre order stickers or pixelated covers that pre order copies have.

Well considering I have a pre-order with them(And would hope to **** they will ring me if it is out early) I would say it's almost 100% not available(Unless they have chosen to go against the release date, fairly possible), I'm gonna say it was a 'coming soon' one.

Already done some quick sketches on my super hero for this game.

His name will be 'Brutus'

"I am Brutus and i am the strongest man ever!"

He will wear a gold cape and be naked

You had to get emailed it, but some people who couldn't download it put it up for others (Thats how Kerrby and me got ours).

I think the demo is coming to the store on Thursday/ Friday anyway.

3rd play through til I realised you can grind the train line in the same way you grind/slide on the power lines.
Good way to get somewhere in a hurry with the endless rail loop.
(tried after the first mission was completed)

A few reviews released today, from 1UP, Joystiq and Gametrailers, with a lot of positive comments from all.

Joystiq writes - "As a result, Sucker Punch has crafted a game that I feel comfortable labeling "the greatest superhero game I've ever played." "

1UP writes - "Simply put, InFamous is the kind of game that when I'm not playing it, I'm constantly thinking about doing so. Heck, I already know what's going to happen right after I finish this sentence: I'm going to go back and play more as "superhero lightning cop" Cole."

1UP inFAMOUS REVIEW - SCORE A-/A+
Story-wise, the game starts with bike messenger Cole MacGrath just dropping off another package; said package explodes and wipes out a huge chunk of the fictional Empire City -- all while giving him the power to manipulate electricity. In an attempt to leave Empire City (now under quarantine due to the explosion), Cole meets with Moya, an FBI agent who wants him to track down her husband (a fellow agent in deep cover) and recover the device that might have given Cole his powers in the first place. I normally don't care for story stuff in an open-world game, but InFamous actually has a pretty good script, and the story takes some very surprising turns later on. Without spoiling, I'll just say: it's worth it to pay attention to the dialogue and the comic book-style cut-scenes early on to prepare for the crazy stuff that happens later on down the line.

It's how InFamous blends all of this -- the platforming, the combat, the powers, the missions, and the Karma -- that makes it an eminently playable and enjoyable experience for me. It's why I've been staying up so late for the past few days. It's why I actually play the side missions (to wit, I usually don't do many side-missions in games -- whether they're open-world action games or RPGs. I'm usually content with focusing on the critical path). It's why I still load it up to look for collectibles like blast shards (which increase my energy meter) and dead drops (which dole out extra backstory). It's why after finishing the grandiose and awesome evil ending after about 20 hours of play, there's just enough replayability and difference for me to immediately start up a new game as good afterwards.

JOYSTIQ inFAMOUS REVIEW - NO SCORE
The game is broken up into story missions and side quests. There's around a dozen types of these optional tasks, some of which are really cool (manage to board a turret-equipped bus of death without, you know, dying) and a couple of which are pace-disrupting and tedious (climb all over my building for 15 minutes, destroying tiny surveillance drones). Thankfully, the former group far outweighs the latter.

Another strength garnered by being a non-licensed superhero game: inFamous doesn't have to cater to fan service. As such, its story doesn't conform to the "Monster of the Week" format often subscribed to by other comic book adaptations. In other words, the game doesn't bombard you with mini-arcs involving dozens of antagonists -- it has a single, cohesive, incredibly engaging storyline, which is aided by the game's gorgeous graphic novel-esque cutscenes.

Outside of these missions, there's still plenty to do in Empire City. Collecting Battery Shards which are dispersed throughout the city increases your maximum power. You can seek out "dead drops" which give you a bit more backstory on the game's ancillary characters. Chasing down the game's many collectibles (and trophies) will likely let the player squeeze about 30 hours of enjoyment out of inFamous. Double that, should you decide to play through it again as a character of opposite morals.

Oh, I gotta play the demo, even though this game is a 100% buy, I have to see what it's like, I am dying to see and play it.

Here's the rumoured stuff for the US Store(Some which will translate to the AU store too): http://playstationlifestyle.net/2009/05/20/rumored-ps-store-content-for-052109/

No games, but plenty of DLC and a Red Faction multiplayer demo(Hopefully not huge in download size as I'd love to give it a go because Prototype has pushed it out of my buy list ATM), I guess if the Cuboid DLC came out you could see and get that for some extra hours gameplay?
