So Collingwood don't get to wear their "clash" strip. What a surprise.

Why would they?

The Magpie's still finished onto top of the ladder and as such still have the right to wear their home jumper

Does anyone think there will actually be any tickets left for the general public at 9am on wednesday? Bit shocked that they have said general public will get a chance at all to be honest!

The AFL wishes to advise arrangements for the replay of the 2010 Toyota AFL grand final are as follows:

The replay of the 2010 Toyota AFL Grand Final between Collingwood and St Kilda will be played at 2.30pm on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the MCG.

Tickets will be on sale to members of the competing clubs at 9am Monday, september 27.

Tickets for AFL members will be on sale 9am Tuesday September 28.

Should any tickets be available after sales to club members, tickets will go on sale at 9am on Wednesday September 29 to the general public.

As well as the 25,000 tickets that are normally available to members of the competing clubs, it is expected that up to 16,000 further tickets will also be made available to members of the competing clubs.

All ticket prices will remain the same price as per today's match.

Collingwood and St Kilda will wear the same uniforms and all other arrangements re team dressing rooms etc will remain the same.

AFL chief executive officer Andrew Demetriou said that after discussions with the AFL chairman Mike Fitzpatrick and the AFL Executive it has been decided that in the event of a second drawn grand final, that extra time will be played. Five minutes extra time each end will be played.

Arrangements in relation to Grand Final events during the week will be announced on Monday.

Emphasis on the second last paragraph...no second replay!

So was I, there's no way there will there be any tickets left by Wednesday, I'd love to go but cant see it happening!

So if it is deemed good enough to have extra time next week, why wasn't it good enough today?
AFL, so progressive on so many levels and yet stuck in the dark ages on other levels.

I would say because while the AFL may have a contract for the extra week if needed with the MCG it would not be available for use a week later as it needs to be prepared for the cricket season.

Stuck in the dark ages says who... you?? I suppose we should change our rules because other sports who have a far greater chance of gaining draws due to lower scoring matches did so. Why can't we have our own unique set of rules? For crying out loud, it's happened 3 times since 1898. It's not like we cop it every year. Neither side was good enough to win over 4 quarters of 30 minutes, hence neither side deserves to be premiers. For me, it's either the 2010 GF has a N/A in the winners column (eg: NRL 07, 09) or we have a replay.

No way - if it were two interstate teams and fans found it difficult to travel, there might be tickets.

Silver AFL members will still not see any tickets, as won't GA.

Its club members + full club support + MCC
