In the Lindsay Hassett room on Friday Night, Hooper said he was only a week or 2 away from coming back.

Awesome news if so.. He is a real X-Factor atm when in the side, and allows Cyril to stay in the centre of the ground as well. Will prove to be a handful again when back, I believe we are so much more dangerous with him in the side.

Perhaps if we could break even in the hitouts our midfield loaded with the best clearance players in the competition could actually beat Essendon rather than just get close?

Seriously, a midfield with Hodge, Mitchell, Sewell, Borgoyne and now Rioli should be dominating clearences. A side like Essendon should count themselves lucky to see the footy.
I find that when Sam Mitchell and Jordan Lewis are in the square together we seem to get smashed for pace.

One reason I am so stoked we have Burgoyne. He's the exact sort of mid we've been missing, he wins the clearance then accelerates out of the pack, in the same vein as say Cooney or Judd.

Also some responsibility needs to go to the guys coming in off the square to cover if an opposition mid bursts out with pace.

[/b]Cats only beat them by 8 clearances last week.........;)
And broke even in the hitouts. So if we could break even we'd get 13 or so more clearances :D

I'm not necessarily saying Taylor will definitely get his spot back, hell, he might be lucky to play this season, a broken leg is tough to get back from. It will be interesting to see if they think that Skipper gives enough extra around the ground to make up for what he lacks as a ruckman? I think if Renouf was a better tap ruckmen they might actually go that way. As it stands I think he'll come back in when he's fit.

Straight kicking at goal would've done that, 11 extra shots

Hooper will have been out for 5 weeks leading into the Bulldogs match. I assume that he will probably miss another 3 after that, making him available for the St.Kilda match at Etihad. We'll need him.
If we're talking injuries ,just taking the field at that joint is a big worry in itself these days.Kruzer got his foot caught in the turf ,out for the rest of the year ,Lachie Hansen dives for a mark and takes out a divet so big you'd be going to remove such a big section of turf with a shovel.

I hate our guys playing at that joint ,it's a raffle as to how many serious injuries your side could cop and the AFL keep turning a blind eye to the obvious problem.

I would rather Skip in the team than Taylor. I agree with one of the posters, that Taylor's skills are worse than a 5 year old Aus kicker!!!

I was really concerned when we drafted Skipper but he has been fantastic backup.

Renouf has really started to play well around the ground with some big grabs and second efforts.

Have to say that i am happy with they way they are both playing in the ruck and around the ground:thumbsu:
