Gotta stop trying to recruit slow paced one trick ponies like Mclean. Curnow is that sort but he's not too slow. Very dissapointing to see the way he has gone about his footy since injuring his shoulder, either he is still carrying an injury or from what it looks like he lost confidence over it and in my books that makes you a squib. No denying he has not been having a go. If Mclean makes a player I will be suprised, you just can not be that slow, you can not be the sort of player who is dead set useless in the first half of games or when he gets a knock and has to play hurt. He can not fit in with our structure and our style of pressure and zoning footy and hard spreading. Makes a weak link.
A guy who has skill and pace and is strong, especially throught the core is Touhy. He should be moulded and pushed over this preseason to become that extra genuine centerman we need. I really think this guy could be something special. He has come a long way in a very short period of time and looked very good with his short stints on the ball. I think he might be the one to step up.
I think Gibbs will step up next year and go from a flanker who gets a lot of easy touches to becoming an influential onballer next season as well.
bring back bentick??
honestly tho i really rated curnow early on, hopefully he can step up and be a permanent part next year!! but i think its an area a few (murph, gibbs, robbo) have really improved in(the grunt work) and hopefully they continue to improve/be as good next year
Brock McLean anyone?
I agree, but that won't stop us looking to further strengthen our list.
We may be throwing out a curve ball, looking as though we're after talls when it may just be the mid that we are after.
I think we need to really look at the top end of our list age wise and make sure that what is building is sustained.......but that's probably for another thread.I agree, but that won't stop us looking to further strengthen our list.

What about travis tuck? Couldnt be any worse that mclean or curnow- curnow is almost as slow as mclean and has some of the worst skills I have ever seen. Can barely kick a drop punt.
Tuck on the other hand is big, can actualy move and kick a ball and is a good player that couldnt break into the hawks mids.
I was always impressed with him @ the hawks. And was always competing for the 1 spot with J Kennedy.
This guy would be an upgrade on both curnow and mclean- aslong as he doesnt bring any baggage.
Any 1 know what his VFL form was like this year?
Could we rookie him?
Wouldnt even be opposed to this. could actually find the ball. was a strong as any 1 over the ball. should neve have been delisted. any 1 know where he is atm?
I'm not to up to date with anything in the vfl besides the bullants. What ever happened to Myles Sewell? Was almost certain to be drafted a few seasons ago and has just disappeared. Was he an inside mid?
now that ratten has questioned the tactics applied to judd,
would seem that his now looking for someone to help that chop out with judd and apply pressure and blocks to judd's tagger
just amazing me when you look past the last 4 weeks, the taggers at most times dont contest to the ball and focus soley in standing infront of judd and have there arms spread out so judd does not come into play
need someone to help judd, whether carrazzo, robinson or curnow can do that or blues go for a player of luke ball, jude bolton, sewell type player
