The +/- stat in any single game is absolutely useless. Even over a whole season it's very shakey.

To get an idea of impact, adjusted +/- is really the stat to use.

It's off topic, but his early retirement hurt you a whole lot more than most people outside of St Kilda realize.

Is that quantifiable in the +/- though?

I'm not really up on how it works because for the most part I reckon that sort of thing is a pile of poop, but surely it can't measure something that doesn't show up on stats sheets, and surely it doesn't measure against the stats of the player who he's defending on each and every play?

He was massive for us, we were twice the team with him in.

All it measures is how the team did in the 21 mins he was on the court.

Basically, it means in the 21 minutes he played, the other 4 guys on the court were on fire.
