You must have been the other fly on the wall while Mark Williams and Rob Snowden discussed the best way to beat Fremantle. Yes the Dockers completely revolve around Trent Croad, knock out Croad must = 4 points to the Power.

Im surprised you didn't mention the rest of the conversation between Williams and Snowden. Fremantle are that great Port actually thought they would have to knock out the entire Dockers side to win the game.

The only thing that French did wrong was not to put him in hospital for longer!

Sorry... I suppose there are 2 types of premeditated... 1 where someone declares before say a game that they will do something (which is not what I meant by the Kickett incident)... the other which is less premeditated would be say a punch where the player knows exactly what he is doing, winds up and throws punches (which is what I meant by Kickett when he chased and punched people i.e. he actually thought about the strike and carried it out)... where as French's was a split second decission which was wrong and costly.

Anyway this topic is starting to drag out so all the best against the Roos this w/e they will be hard over at Manuka.

I cant remember Dale chasing people to punch... I remember Clem, Doddy and Dale in the thick of it when the "melee" was on and the only other incident with Dale was off the ball when he and phil read stood toe to toe with the doogs up...and then Dale mercessly pummelled him and picked up a free kick.

What relevance does it have to last weekends incident? zilch!, nada!, nein!, nothing!!!...


Barnaby could see Croad was aiming for a precision collision...Barnaby could have:

a) stopped in his tracks or slightly changed his direction off the chase. Certeinly not a gutless manouvre and shows presence of mind...avoiding the collision keeps him somewhat in the contest as Croad would have sailed passed him completely missing him and ending up somewhere near Railway Pde.

b)braced and taken the hit legally...dusted himself off... and got on with it.

c) countered Croads approach with a careless, illegal and down right dangerous hit.

he chose the latter...

Well as a neutral (ie not Port or Freo), do any of you think Croad had it coming for him? In todays Sunday Times, someone wrote into the sports letters section saying that after all the stuff Croad said earlier in the season about his hitman image ("If you can go out and smash a few guys early it's pretty good..." or something like that) he said he had it coming for him and i admit i tend to agree with him. Maybe like the same guy said he should take a more humble approach like Jako, who plays fair and phsical and is more humble in front of the media.

have i ever said that i believed this i said it was a rumour going around and it was interesting to hear what people thought of the incident. i heard a story and thought it would be an interesting conversation topic sorry if u misread it
