Just curious to hear some people's opinion's on these websites, i see about 50 commercials on TV every night so they must really be taking off. :thumbsu:

Yup. They work, that's for sure. Was married for a considerable number of years, and when that finished hopped right into the i'net dating scene.

It takes the hassle of guessing if someone is attracted to you or not (looks, and things you have in common) out of the equation.

I've been with my current lady for 8 months now. She's a stunner. People are always asking me how I met her :D

Amost forgot to mention - it was on RSVP. I actually got ranked No 1 in Aust. for my age group at one stage, lol.:o

The chances of finding a stunner on the internet is very slim. I don't know one hot chick that would date a guy they met on the internet.

Better off meeting girls on a night out, uni, work, library, bookstore, coffee shop... wherever.

Maybe when you get a bit older, could be okay, but if you are under about 28.... then stick to meeting girls the normal way.

true Kenny but I'd be unlikely personally to find a girl of similar interests at a night club when I'd rather be home on my 'puter ;)

I'm married btw

I find it hard to believe that you actually know the quality of people on these websites. It's a fact that adult match makes has around 1,000,000 members in australia...and your telling me finding a stunner is slim?
I go out to clubs a fair bit, and meet girls through uni, parties, friends and other social events, but am intrigued by who actually uses the internet as a dating tool. Also, is it dating or basically just for sex?

Nice, i'm 28. Might be time to hit the dating sites. ;)

Personally i wouldn't do it, i've made alot of friends through the net through just having similar tastes in music and whatnot but in the end i don't actually trust any of them.

Also, people say things on the internet that they would never say irl. So you are believing they are someone they really they aren't.

Not my style.

Wouldnt do it and think that the ones that sign up for internet dating have no real social skills.

Why not join social clubs and meet up with people of similiar interests that way??

That way you get to meet them face to face right from the start instead of going through months of chatting via the web thinking that they are the right one only to discover that you both have no attraction to one another in the end.

Better still, give dating the arse altogether.
Buy a dog, get a barbecue , and keep a regular supply of beer handy.

I like your way of thinking.

I think we have just found a great man, the only way this could be topped is getting some mates round and good tunes in the sun.

Maybe its a convenience thing. People who meet up for the internet dating sites are after one thing - a partner.

I doubt people talk for months on dating sites though to tell the truth. It's almost like a gay bar/meat market - where people like what they see and move in for the kill, not much courting, romance, gift giving etc.

Perhaps you have no internet skills? Hanging out at the local pub is a crappy way to meet women, the standard is pretty low and you meet women who call themselves Shazza. Real classy.

No internet skills? Well if it means that I dont have to meet jerks like you, then fair enough.

You obviously hang out the the wrong pubs. I ooze of class and I have never called myself "shazza" so get the facts straight next time please.

Tell me Angry Dragon. Do you "ooze of class:?

Any fool who is so childish and gutless as to snipe at
people for their misfortunes in life on an internet forum certainly doesn't
appear to ooze of class to me. Time for a reality check for you I'd suggest.
